One of my SOP steering wheel grips is grabbing the lowest part of wheel. Seems to make sense. Rest hand where it centers wheel when on long straight roads or freeways.

So....how to do something similar on stock Prius wheel? I'm thinking of a big thick comfy rope around middle spoke. Or maybe 1/2 flex PVC/pecks tubing held in place with paracord.

    Any other quick fix ideas?

I agree - the steering wheel blocking my hand spot is pretty much the only thing I don't like about the vehicle.

I'd like to know what's behind the bottom plastic to know if it can be removed/modified. If I knew what any of this was called I expect I'd have a better lead, but as it stands I'm open to using previous generation Toyota wheels that have the bottom handle.

Please let me know if you find anything
