Anybody here owns or have experience driving Chevy Bolt? the price discount that they are having on this car is kind of scary. The LT model you can have for as low as $25k (Premier at $29k) without even accounting for the Federal $1875 credit, state rebates and power company rebates.

I am thinking of trading in my 2018 Prime and getting this car for work commute (100 miles RT). What do you guys think?

    Thank you.

i've heard good things from a few people who own one, is the fed credit really only 1875?

If you want to go full EV, and think the price can't be beat, then I'd say go for it. I would, however, consider the long-term value of Bolts in the used market several years down the road vs. what the Prime might be worth. I would bet the Prime might hold value a tad better. That said, you might be able to sell your Prime at a very decent price right now too.

Yes Federal tax credit expires this Mar 31.

After all the rebates and incentives I got when I bought my Prime, if I trade-in my car ($19k+ trade-in value) it's break even for me.

Anyone comment on the quality of the ride? I would not like an enclosed go cart effect.:ROFLMAO::LOL:

Original Insight had a horrible feel inside while driving.

Typical car reviewers loved the Spark EV over the ICE one for the performance increase.

I had no complaints about my Sonic, and I use higher tire pressures. The front seat was roomier and more comfortable for me than my current Camry.

The best thing about EV's, if you have solar, you're pretty much driving for free once your panels are fully amortized. That said, GM typically charges more for the higher-end features like Lane keep assist, smart cruise control, Smart Park and the like. A better bet might be the Kia Niro. Prices, considering those extra features, are better. Best to check it out and see.

currently Bolt is $10k off MSRP before state and federal ($1875) incentives. I checked Niro as well but they don't have rebates compared to Bolt. I am seeing Bolt LT with those safety features packages and DCFC for $27,500 before tax and license.
Hoping the dealership will give me a good trade-in value for my Prime. Carvana offered me $19,500 for 2018 Prime with 41,800 miles.

If you pull the trigger on one I'll be interested in a review.
Hurry.....the incentive goes bye-bye in March IIRC.....

    Update:
I pulled the trigger and bought a 2020 Bolt LT last week. I liked the acceleration of the Bolt and love the one pedal driving.
Main complaint is the seat but planning on putting a cushion so hopefully it will help. The seats are narrow making the space inside looked big. Interior are all hard plastic, for a $36k car its unbelievable why GM doesn't improve Bolt's interior. Prime's interior is way more better than the Bolt.
Suspension is a little bumpy compared to Prime.

But for a $22k price EV (after all rebates), I'll take all the negatives and live with it. It's nice not going to gas station.

It will be about $22k after all the rebates and incentives. Sadly the federal credits expired last Mar. 31.
I got it for $30k before tax and license. All my rebates and incentives will be $12k. Then adding GMs cash incentive of $8500, total rebates is $20,500. Bolt"s msrp is $40k (LT with options).

I was at the Chevy dealer the other day and they just got a 2017 Bolt Premier in from a lease. I took it for a test drive and wound up trading the Volt in for it. Nice car.

not too shabby! Can't wait until more of these kinds of prices hit the used Market in a year or two -
