I can tell you how expensive it is after you hit one of these in the freeway:

And it does this to the grill:

    $6600:eek:.

But that's not what we paid due to a $1k deductible
    ;).

But when we picked it up Friday, I found this for the protective film application:cool::

Less than satisfied with their sub contractor choice:mad:.

So I'll deal with that soon(y).

Yeah, a fender fends off stuff. And traditionally, a bumper was meant to absorb small impacts. Typical rush hour scenario:

Good point about the Toyota cow catcher grill. That thing is ugly.

The Lexus Spindle Grill is likewise very ugly. Way too much grill. If they simply replaced the bottom 25-33% of it with plain body color plastic it would be fine. When I googled “Lexus spindle grill” the second suggested search term adds ugly. There’s articles saying it’s hurting Lexus sales.

Seems like they’d have focus groups and make sure the majority of people surveyed like a design before they put it in production. Actually I remember reading an article about how for some model car (I can’t remember which) they used to do that but then moved away from that process and of course the next version they put out many people thought was ugly.

I always thought cow launcher would be a better name than cow catcher.
