Does anybody have paperwork from Toyota stating they got their coolant valve replaced under CA emissions warranty P1121?

My car just got this code at 149700 miles. I'm 300 miles from it being out of the 15 year CA emissions warranty. I want to bring it to the dealer but I would like to have paperwork stating this is a CA emissions issue. I know some dealers honor the warranty, some don't. It's best to have paperwork if someone got it replaced under the warranty.

    Thank you

Strange the TSB covers 2004-2007. It should apply to all 2nd Gen 2004-2009

The original (now superseded) TSB is dated 05/08/2006--maybe they did a design change that made it into the 2007 and later models?
Edit: Interesting, When you do a parts lookup for the valve on a 2004 or 2005, your see:
But, if you look it up on a 2007 or later, it shows:
There must have been an older part number that is not seen since the TSB.

I tried to get clarification from Toyota corporate to see if the P1121 is for sure an emissions related issue as stated in the TSB, but they cannot confirm that information since I have a 2008 and not a 2004-2007.

I then called the dealer and spoke to a foreman and he had to double check with the warranty department to see if it's covered. Got a call back and IT'S COVERED!

But there is way too much confusion as to whether this is a covered repair under CA emissions warranty. I knew what I was asking and it took a long time to get the verification. If people didn't know and brought in a 2008 or 2009, they would most likely get charged for this repair, even though they may still be under warranty.

Even though the TSB states that only this condition is covered by the warranty, that does not make logical sense!
If the part is a covered emissions component, it is covered by the CA warranty (I assume 180 mo/150,000 mi is the standard emissions warranty.)

This is what I told the warranty "specialist" at Toyota corporate, but she keeps telling me the TSB wording doesn't really mean it's a emissions component. The TSB is just to show the techs how to fix the problem.

I told her the wording identifies the problem as an emissions problem, so it should cover all up to 2008 and 2009. Shouldn't stop at 2007. Still couldn't get my reasoning across.

Drove to the dealer this morning to get this valve replaced and when I got there, my check engine light turned off! Damn I thought!

But the service adviser was really cool about it, he says as long as the p1121 code is stored, it's good enough to get the warranty replacement. So I'm a happy camper

In case anyone else runs into this thread, our 2008 Prius was covered under the 15 year 150,000 mile warranty because this is an emission component. The car was going to fail the emissions test so the warranty applies. This warranty only applies to certain states including Vermont where our car is registered. Initially Toyota said no but after checking they found that it was covered. Here is the document that shows which prius are covered. https://www.vt-avip.com/VTPublicWeb/resources/images/Warranty.pdf

Hope this saves someone else the $700 to fix this part!

@jackalope Did your car have more than 150,000 Miles when you got it replaced?

I had it done as well and paid for it. But it was way after 150K miles. May be double that.

12 years and 139,000 miles on ours. I don't think they would have covered it past the 150k. It seems that this part fails around 120-140k miles though so hopefully folks get it replaced under warranty.
