Dying 2005 Battery at 247k options

    My 2005 Prius with 247k miles just got the alerts for the HV battery. I've been looking at the different options but could use some advice.
    My first option would be to get the $1600 new one that is recommended here, from 2k1Toaster. But it doesn't appear to have any available until April 22. Is it possible to drive for the next two months with the car as it is?
    Another option appears to be a new one from a place called GreenTec Auto, that is near me in Charlotte, for $1650, four year warranty. I would have to put it in myself.
    I see the GreenBean reconditioned one installed for $1449, with a lifetime warranty.
    Hybridbattery911, with a 100% revitalized battery pack in your vehicle. We warranty ALL modules up to lifetime coverage, installed, for $1049.

    Any thoughts or experiences with any of these? Or other ideas?

    I would say NEVER get a reconditioned battery, at least not for anything over about $4-600. If you're going for a GreenTec one, why not just find a Toyota battery in your area for $1650-$1700? I think in most areas they're around that price now. The only advantage of aftermarket is you get to keep your old battery, so you can sell the old cells if you like.

    Don't know much about the eastern side of things, but isn't @TMR-JWAP in that general area?

    In the general area. Ashville is about 2 hrs northwest. Well within my range.

    It's important to get the sub-codes for the hybrid battery error codes first... Sometimes the repairs required don't mean you have to replace the whole pack. And sometimes, especially people who go to a dealership will spend a fortune on battery pack replacement only to find out that wasn't the specific problem and the dealership is like, oh well, I guess it sucks to be you! Would you like us to fix it again? There's lots of overpriced parts we're eager to sell you.

    There's so many of them... That's usually when something gets unplugged or more likely I suspect that your 12v battery is old and is creating this madness... And even if it's not that's the first step in addressing everything. Here's how to test the 12v:
