89543-47030 Speed sensor woes

    Good Afternoon Prius friends!
    I just purchased my first Prius, a lovely 2011 model II and I really like it.
    Here is where the "But" statement goes:

    It has an intermittent "ABS VSC" set of dtc's on the dash, and the mechanic I bought it from told me it needed a left front wheel speed sensor. He even gave me one.

    I tried to install this little guy this weekend only to find it is not quite the same as what is on my car.

    The lead from the ABS sensor plugs into this odd little blue box and seems to tie into the harness toward the front of the car too.

    I fancy myself above average when it comes to car repair and such, but this is kicking my butt!! Have y'all run into this before? Am I just trying to plug the wrong thing into the wrong place?

    Did you figure this out? And did the new sensor fix the issue?

    If it's like the rear speed sensor, the blue box is a cover/protector for the connection. So you plug the sensor into the harness, then click the blue part around that connection. The sensor won't connect to the harness with the protector in place.

    I had not yet. I was going to look at it on Saturday (my next day off) and see if I was being dumb or what.

    Update!! I had a bit of time to play with my car this weekend, and found the source of my ABS codes.
    Someone along the line had clipped the connector to the ABS sensor and the modulator (I assume that is where it goes) and used heat shrink and "fixed it".
    So I am on the hunt for a diagram that shows me what wire and connector I need to properly repair this hack job.
    If y'all have access to any diagrams, I would greatly appreciate the help.!
