So far invisibility mode and no noise allowed me to hear and see a screaming old man with a cane while backing up to a fuel pump at a gas station. Works pretty damn good from my experience. I'll just keep it switched on thank you.

I don't experience ANY of that kind of driver aggression towards me. At most someone will tailgate me. But that happens in ANY car I drive.

What I do notice that since I sold my red Toyota Celica and got my white Prius, Women have been complimenting me car much more and seem to want more dates!!

Woo hooo!! Prius is a chick-magnet!! ... or actually a mature, beautiful, intelligent Woman magnet.

All kidding aside, the 2010 Prius comes standard with a "Cloaking Device". To deactivate and become visible, rotate the switch on the left side of the steering wheel, then pull it back toward you. That should make you visible again.

    Happy Motoring,

    Tom

I drive a GMC as my personal transport and a white company Prius for work.
I put more miles on the Prius by far (5K in 4 months), and I haven't noticed that the cell phone yacking, GPS engrossed, populace notices me any less in one over the other.
I usually drive both with headlights on.

    It's just something I haven't noticed.
Now if you want a REALLY cloaked vehicle....ride a motorcycle with OEM (quiet) pipes!!
If the Chinese had bought and studied a couple of Kawasaki motorcycles, they could have produced their new 'stealth fighter' (the J-20) for a tiny fraction of what they paid for espionage. :(

I went from a silver Saab 9-2x wagon (think Subaru Impreza WRX wagon) to my new 2011 Blizzard Pearl Prius and I am now invisible also. When I first started to read your thread I thought you would be referring to getting rear ended not cut off. I have noticed with many red cars now a days the brake lights seem to blend right in to the car even while illuminated, especially during my AM & PM commute into the sun either way. All of the reflective tape on the Prius from MA would solve that problem I think though. Might put some conspicuity tape on my hatch.

I almost go backed in to yesterday while parked on the street in front of my sister in laws driveway. When I pulled up there was Honda Fit blocking her neighbors drive, the neighbor came home and the Fit need to move. The driver just started to reverse towards me kinda fast not even knowing I was there. I laid on my horn and she stopped inches from my bumper. I got out of my car and she had the nerve to say its okay I did not hit you.

The problem is that there are very few Bud Lite swilling, redneck, butt wipes driving Prius'. We tend to be a reserved group and therefore are taken advantage of out on the road.

The two triangles are or may be misleading - triangles with point up are used on slow vehicles (such as farm equipment on highway) and also as warning devices at roadside disabled vehicles.

The rest look great, although in your area it seems to be impolite to look at other vehicles ;)

It automatically turns off after you've been run off the road, so you have probabaly "almost" had it turned off many times by now. :)

It's an added feature of Prius' special poor rear window visibility which works because of the reverse ostrich phenomenon.
There are a few other drivers out there who, to paraphrase the immortal Douglas Adams, are so amazingly stupid that they believe that if you can't see them, they can't see you.

Funny you should mention this. I had bought a used burgundy red 2005 Prius back in 2015 with 60K miles, and 3 weeks later I was rear-ended and it totaled that car. (We are still driving it, and it's a great vehicle for it's age (and now condition, since it's considered totaled) - but it has stopped me from getting another burgandy/red Prius.) But, I always wondered if it might have had something to do with the driver not noticing the brake lights due to blending into the color of the vehicle.

And OMG... I didn't realize the date of this post! LOL!
