If you have a Techstream rig so you can read the trouble codes, you can post them here.

If you don't, but you know somebody with a Techstream rig, or can find somebody with a Techstream rig, and get them to read the trouble codes, you can post them here.

Otherwise, if there's a way to get the car to the dealer, they can read the trouble codes, and you can post them here.

    Agree with the above.

Is your car up-to-date with its recalls? If not, it could be the "Intelligent Power Module."

I used the cheap scanner I have and it didn’t read any codes . Oil is full. The triangle and warning prompt actually went away so... idk what that means. It’s been snowing here and I thought it sounded like my transmission was going because she isn’t shifting like she should but it seems to come and go

Well, maybe you have a short reprieve while the lights are gone, which could be used to get a Techstream outfit set up for reading codes next time.

Lol Idk how I get the orange triangle light on but I'm guessing my hybrid battery is about to shit the bed. I went to toyota today to get coolant and ask about the warning light and prompt. They said it would be $110 to diagnose it but it's most likely the hybrid battery

So far (knocking on wood), exactly zero of the times I've seen the triangle has it been about the hybrid battery. I might see it again someday and have it mean that, but not so far.

That's what makes reading the codes worthwhile.

What about your recall status? Are you up to date?

Maybe the "transmission" issue you are feeling is the hybrid system, of which the battery is only one component. Remember, there is no shifting with the CVT (transmission), so anything you can feel is likely caused by something besides the transmission.

We need more information. We don't even know how many miles are on your Prius.

It has 264,905 miles and I’ve had it for about a year and a half. Idk anything about the recall status.
No codes are gonna pop if there’s no warning light on right ? Even with the “techstream rig”?

A higher level OBD-II scanner can read stored (past) codes that are no longer present.

One way to check on recalls is to put your VIN in the NADA recall site. Also, there's a Toyota Owners' website you might check. Since you bought the car recently, the recalls could have been performed prior to sale, unless it was a private party.

That's a lot of miles! It very well could be your hybrid battery. If you read around here, there's also the notorious EGR system to worry about. That's a whole can of worms, and problems don't usually present like you describe.

    Any more warnings today?

Leave your hatch open and put it in drive.

i have been dealing with same issue for almost past 4 months or so now. it throws orange triangle and check hybrid battery, but dont prompt to pull on side. and drives fine , i just use techstream to clear the codes every time and in few days i get it back. i dont wanna spend $2000 on battery replacement where it could be just one or two bad cells only, i have been looking at battery cell voltages on torque app and i dont notice any cell being extremely low on voltages, app switches to different cells being the lowest value so not pin pointing to a single or couple of specific cells.
    any suggestions?

What are the codes you keep clearing, by the way?

It would be ironic if they're codes about something else than the battery entirely and you're ignoring something you haven't even thought about choosing to ignore.

the codes are related to something like "deteriorating hybrid battery" codes are now permanently stored i can see them in techstream. cylinder misfires are also permanent stored. i will check codes and write back since they are stored.

Is the vent blocked/clogged? Maybe the battery is overheating?
Maybe the fan is clogged up and needs cleaning.
