So, whenever I have my iPod plugged in, it does not have any static when playing, but when I plug it in and have my charger plugged in also, I get hard drive noise, static, etc. Now, is this a problem with my stereo, iPod audio plug or my charger plug?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I think this is probably happening because the charger and the stereo and using two different grounds, and there is some unwanted current flow. There is a little device called a "ground loop isolator" or "ground isolator" that will solve your problem. Here is the first one google showed me, just to get an idea of what you will need. I'd expect Radio Shack or the big-box audio stores would have these, too.

Or you can filter the power with a filter from Radio Shack. Se my post about skyfi. Some that have used the ground loop device have found it cuts the high freq. response on there xm,or Ipod.
