This is not a Prius question but I am hoping someone here has some experience with 12 volt led strips
I bought an LED strip at the auto parts store to put in my top light (taxi) and I can't make it work with my car's 12 volt system in fact I can't make it work at all on any battery

Maybe some more info on which strip you bought? Is it possible you got and extension and not a starter?

They are called LED GLOZ made by Alpena they came with a little mini battery built in to the packaging so you can see how bright they are
So I don't don't if that means they are a starter or what
I think there must be some way to hook them up

Check polarity, if correct, check power leads if they're live.

I do have a tester but not sure how to do all that
I can probably figure it out
I checked for continuity on the strip and there was none

    I figured it out
I did not know there are two separate strings of four each lights and they have to be connected separately
I was thinking they were all one string
    Thanks guys for responding
