I've been running synthetic oil on my 2008 Prius, since the day I purchased it new in 2008.
I've change the synthetic oil every 10k miles
The oil always looks new , every time I change it.

Which oil are you using may I ask please? Mobil 1 AP gets dirty after one year even though we only get around 5k miles on it.

    moto g(7) power ?

Maybe on the dipstick, and that is a good sign: a regular car the oil will be black as coal even on the diipstick. But don't kid yourself, collect a glass jar of the drained oil, compare with new: the drained oil will be jet black. Long before 10K. Which just means it's doing it's job, but just sayin'.

    This is new Toyota 0W20:

And this is same oil, after 6 months and 4~5K kms:

What is the history of your Prius?
=Has your Prius used 100% synthetic oil since it was brand new?

***I've had my 2008 Prius since new, it only had 18 miles when I changed the oil to 100% synthetic.

In the drain pan it was the color of honey? In a jar? On the dipstick? A smear on a shop towel?

Is there a question hiding in there somewhere ?
The COLOR of used oil in modern engines is usually more a function of the additives in it than any degradation of the oil itself or from "dirt".
Diesel engines are a notable exception.

You mean you never, ever change it ever?

This thread interests me deeply. About two years I changed from 5,000 mi dino changes to 10,000 mi Mobil 1 changes. I think I'm gonna make a move to 15,000 mi.

I've been doing maintenance on my daughter's 2007 Prius this last week. When I checked her oil on the dipstick the other day it looked like mine does right after I do an oil change. It was still honey yellow on the dipstick after 5,000 miles where as my Mobil1 is black in a couple of days.

What kind of oil change interval do you guys go with on your Prius'. I was assuming that a Prius could do twice what any gas powered car could do. If my car can go 10,000 mi on Mobil1 I was thinking the Prius could do 20,000 mi.

there a pluses and minuses to an engine that is not always on and tends to run on the cooler side relatively speaking.
your best bet is to send a sample to blackstone for analysis

People adopt, implement there own rituals involving changing their oil.
    I don't interfere.

If you're using a 100% high quality synthetic? You might be fine going 10,000 miles in between changes. Everyone can come out of the woodwork to agree or disagree with that statement.
Personally? Prius or my current Honda Fit, I think oil changes are CHEAP maintenance, and cheap insurance against engine wear, so I see little to absolutely no benefit in pushing oil change intervals out beyond the manufacturers recommendation.

I also would NOT speculate as to the condition of life remaining of an engine oil based on how it looks. That's not a evaluation I'm making based on a visual inspection.

In short, oil that has been used for 10K, is oil that has been in service for 10K. I don't care if it looks like honey, or Barbecue Sauce, it's a good idea to change it.

About 3200 kms. And 6 months. Toyota Canada says 8000 kms or 6 months (for 3rd gen), whichever comes first. Just doin' what I'm told...

Just about everywhere else in the world outside of NA, Toyota recommends 15,000 km (10,000 mi) or 12 months, whichever comes first.

    Who you gonna listen to?
