Hybrid haters in general?

    Isn’t it amazing? In the year 2020 we still have so many hybrid haters.
    I guess it will always be this way. Of course I unfortunately reside in a state/area where your manhood is measured by the size of your truck and the amount of fuel it must waste.
    But seriously, I deal with people that would rather ride in an old rattling s__tbox than in $40k plus hybrid. Even though my hybrid can outrun their car and get better mpg while doing it. I guess I’ll just never understand that mentality.

    Odd, I get no hate in my day to day driving. On two lane roads, I drive such that half the vehicles pass me and I pass half the vehicles. (lots of farm equipment) on freeways I am in the right lane going just barely faster than semis.

    As such I am not in anyone's way and no one hates on me. In 11 years in a Prius, i have had two real haters, say 5 minutes of driving in 250,000 miles. (amusingly to me, I do run into folks who just have to pass a Prius, even though they can't actually focus on driving well enough to stay ahead of me)

    I’m not talking about on the road (which I so see plenty of that)

    I’m talking about people that just have to make Prius jokes, talk bad about hybrids or just make fun of people that drive a hybrid in general.

    It doesn't matter who you are, what you do, how you think or what you drive...there will always be haters out there. Just be happy with your choices in life...and try not to be a hater yourself. "Anti" hybrid people are no different than "anti" PU people.

    There are people who hate coal-rollers and Sunday drivers as well... ...pretty much in equal proportions. Me? I hate slow drivers who sit in the fast lane, brain-dead and on cruise control. Hating doesn't make anyone special, and being hated upon doesn't either.

    from an environmental perspective, it's hard to understand why people don't care.

    psychologically, it may be that they know they are wrong, and that makes them dig their heels in further

    You're only seeing things through your own glasses...just like everyone else.

    Not everyone buys/owns a motor vehicle from an environmental perspective. Psychologically speaking...we all buy/own what we want and can afford for our own reasons...and everyone is different.

    we do, but it all stems from a caring for the earth and our fellow man, or not caring.

    that being said, some people buy hybrids because they think they save money :ROFLMAO:

    The “coal roller” days are over in NEw York state, where they have “smoked” a number of the wrong people, where their dash cams coughs the plate numbers and one was an off duty Encon officer. It affected their wallets in a big way and focused the enforcement into their region ,,, can’t happen soon 01BBD671-8EE2-40A8-9F51-BEC07CDE8096.jpeg

    Crack down in New York State “coal rollers” after a off duty encon officer recorded a coal roller on his dash cam....they then targeted that region....

    Exactly! I buy them because I still believe they are better for the environment, they’re great when you’re stuck in a traffic jam, etc. Yes we pay a little more up front for the hybrid, but as an added bonus, it pays back over time with the great fuel economy. It’s an investment I’m willing to continue making.

    agreed. unfortunately, not enough are willing. even many of those that agree that climate change is a problem, and fossil fuels are a problem, are still driving tanks and hating hybrids
