I have to do my running in the street now with so many walking their dogs and pushing carriages on the sidewalks. But I'm not complaining.

Our dog is kinda our 4-legged treadmill, or skipping rope, something like that. And today I dug up our Dumbbells. That's as far as it got, but we will get to it. And my wife finds these tai chi videos, good for body and soul.

It's been about a week for us. Just haven't had much reason to, but will when it's convenient.

One the outdoor activities, our neighborhood is busier than usual. Lots of dog walkers, joggers, gardeners, etc, but not at all crowded.

Wife went for groceries yesterday. The place was pretty normal other than the paper products being AWOL. And eggs were one dozen to a customer.

I imagine the shelter-in-place order is more detrimental to the psychology of big-city dwellers, especially for the younger generation. I have not had any problems getting out doing outside activities alone or with my wife. With most of ice gone, I saw a sole paddler on a lake just other day and wished I did not give away my canoe. It would have been wonderful to go to paddling in nearby lakes. But if I want just solitude, I can always take a hike into my backyard woods and never meet anyone all day long.

I held off until more of the locals had themselves situated with curbside pickup. I stopped going inside any stores about a week ago. I hit my favorite bacon-n-egg joint the other day and figured out how to spend $50 on brunch for one because I really want them to stick around.

My wife has another week to go in her quarantine; when she gets home we are planning to order a huge celebratory meal from our favorite indian restaurant- they are rare around here and we're desperate to keep that one going.

Just got back from Sams Club concierge service where you order from your car & they bring it out. Masked people with shopping carts were lined up all the way in front of the store waiting for them to open. Concierge used the tire department lot which makes sense since that department is closed & the bay doors provide access to the store.

Car traffic on the road was no lighter than a normal morning :(

Got about half of what we wanted but we surely will not starve. No Honey Nut Cheerios for my son but he WILL survive this. ;)

Weekly Wally run completed yesterday with most of our "wish list' accommodated.
I eat mostly vegan and live where people deep fry everything and so my dietary needs are easily fulfilled.
Hen berries (eggs) are starting to come back and they're still out of several prepper staples (rice, powdered milk, peanut butter) but the only thing I had to reject was spaghetti squash that was miss-weighed.

Our local Wally finally bough a vowel and solved the puzzle.
Yellow tape and only one entrance with a head-count and disgruntled peeps waiting outside.
Hopefully this will at least keep the kids at home.

I have a few items in my Sams cart but they're a bit further away and too small for curbside (for now) so it's a no-go zone for me for now.
For the next 2-3 weeks I'm curbside or ship only.

Wishing to set a good example I now wear a mask when pumping fuel or in public.
I'm actually surprised at how many people I see in public without a mask....and how many people I see driving alone inside their car who ARE wearing a mask.....

Wife & neighbor drove out to the trash pickup site. Somebody drove up wearing the full gas mask, etc. He then proceeded to take it off after getting out of the truck. He was protecting himself against his truck?? o_Oo_O

I heard in the news yesterday: in Quebec they're pretty much resigned that they'll need to dump a significant amount of the milk being produced. They're doing what they can to dodge it: more cheese production, donation to food banks, but people's shopping habits are changed; milk is a short term item, etcetera.

If I had a short hop in the car from shopping stop A to stop B, I might not choose to handle the mask twice just to take it off after A and put it back on for B.

I think that's a good plan and schedule, doing very much the same. Expecting a grocery delivery in 3 hours, and I'm doing a curbside pickup of chickenfeed this afternoon. After that my hunker will be so far down I'll need a ladder for egress.

My wife had two medical appointments in California yesterday so we self contained in the Prius for the 16 hour day. Ice chests loaded with drinks, sandwiches and snacks, masks and gloves for the five times she got out of the car (two doctors' offices, CVS pharmacy, two bathroom stops halfway across the desert) and my two times (one time to get gas, one time at a rest stop where I didn't have to touch anything but my own zipper to empty my bladder). Now we won't have to venture out for another month. Plenty of food and supplies, plenty of in-home entertainment to keep us occupied.

When my wife went into the CVS she did see they were still totally out of disinfectant wipes and sprays, sanitizers, gloves, masks, thermometers and toilet paper. We didn't need any more of those things; she was just curious while she was waiting for her prescriptions to get filled.

For the first half ... does anyone see any consensus yet? I'm still not yet seeing such. Even the new CDC 'recommendation' appears to be just the required political tribute to The Boss.

Some of that issue here is school lunch programs are a big milk client along with the dairy products used in restaurants. The commercial processing equipment cannot be adapted to the increased consumer need. A similar situation exists with toilet paper even without the hoarding. the commercial supply chain used by businesses cannot supply the projected 40% increase in consumer demand.

The milk is a problem solve but the toilet paper shouldn't be if people would be willing to adapt to a minor inconvenience. When t.p. disappeared from the store shelves and we ran low I was able to order commercial rolls from Amazon. It seems very few people were ordering the rolls that don't have center cardboard cores to fit the t.p. holder on the wall. They delivered a 36 roll pack in about a week. We just set rolls next to the toilet instead of hanging them on the wall.

Tp usage is up because there is a lot more people pooping at home instead of at work.
I bet that my place of employment, is still receiving tp orders for a shut down building.
