    Hey.
I have a Roadrover C7088P5 radio, I updated the shell from 2.86.5 to 3.00.5 and after the update the radio does not work. It starts and stops on the car's logo, buttons and DVD drive.

Does any of your colleagues know how to repair this radio?

    Data radja:
    Shell / GUI: 2.86.5
    OS: EN-PRIMA-UW380-256-V1.59
    MCU: D88P5RI7NTH-E1-V1.35
    Folder: I9

    which means "UW380"

    Hi Arturo,

I hope you actually made a backup of your files Shell-UI and OS before installing a new shell.
In any case, read post #1; there are some info on what to do if something goes wrong.
In the mean time, I will try to look for the files you may need.
The best thing to do (if possible for you) is to just reinstall shell 2.86.5

    Hello Cruzeman,

here we have stuff mostly for Prius.
You might want to try our good friends at: China-RNS.com.
Also ask user Strados: he is very knowledgeable and I believe he has some downloads for the Cruze.
Just make sure it fits your unit and make a backup before trying anything else.
    Good luck.

    Hi Randy,
very nice! I'm glad it's working for your camera. Try also the other skins, they are quite fun. You can make your own too.
Connecting the phone is problematic because the unit is an old WinCE machine and it doesn't have a driver for it; that's why it's asking for it; I doubt you can find one. The keyboard can be enabled when you are in the Windows desktop through the Windows settings or icons at the bottom right. If you just want to copy files over, you can always copy them to a USB flash drive or SD card first. (Try different kind of Flash drives or even the second USB port if it doesn't work the first time; the unit is picky...) . Playing your phone music files can be done wireless if you paired it with Bluetooth.

Thanks Bulle! I will try using a flash drive. It probably needs to be formatted to a fat 32 right? One more question. Where is the location to put the BMP start up logo I want to change on the sd card? Are you able to use a GIF format for a animation type deal? I saw a couple online but not sure where to place them. Thanks again!

Yes FAT32 should work. In the root. I don't think GIF will work.
    Details here (see also post#1)
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR STARTUP LOGO
    1) create a logo.bmp file in 800x480 in 24 bit format
    2) drop it in the root of your original sd card
    3) turn on the unit; the logo will get installed and removed from the sd card
Note that the previous logo will be gone for good.

    @Bulle
Do you happen to have a version of the rrui editor? None of the old links on this thread are still active dropboxes.

    Regards,
    Jackson

    Thank you so much.
Any idea how to change fonts, and text (uppercase/lowercase specifically)?

    Cheers,
    Jackson

    Hi Jackson,

fonts *.ttf are located in folder \StaticStore\I9\Fonts.
I guess you can try modify existing fonts using any good font editor.
Or you can probably overwrite the files with new ones.

I never tried myself... so if you do let us know how it goes!

my car has a unit with the following details:
    Shell: 2.96.8
    OS: AR-PRIMA-128-V1.59
    SW version: D29CCRI7-DHRT1-V6.20

Will appreciate the forum assistance with understanding the MCU version and what's my options in upgrading to the latest supported OS, MCU and SW.

    Thanks !

    Hi Izi,
sorry about the delay, I don't come here very often anymore.

MCU: The version you have (D29CCRI7-DHRT1-V6.20) was made specifically for your car. It is probably the best. Unless you have a specific problem to fix, I would recommend you stick with it. You can also check with your dealer to see if they have a new version but check also if it fixes anything really specific for your car. Otherwise stay away from *alien* firmware; they might brick your unit for ever.

OS: V1.59 is not the latest Windows version; newer versions are available for other languages. May be there is one for your language. Unfortunately, the OS version rely also on the MCU version (and even the UI version) so you may experience problems if you decide to upgrade the OS. On the other hand, it should be easy to revert back to your version IF YOU MAKE SURE you have a backup version of OS V.1.59.

UI: 2.96.8 is not the latest UI software; there are in fact many versions above 3.00.00. Most of the time, the differences between versions are for implementing climate controls or car specific controls which you don't probably have. It is easy however to experiment these new UI versions and revert back to your original UI version (make a backup of it first),

SKINS: Changing the skins (or even creating your own) is not so difficult either (see post #1). But be aware that sometimes those skins do not communicate well with either the MCU or OS (bad software architecture). You can however easily experiment with new skins and change them if you don't like them. Plenty of examples in this thread.

I realize this is a lot of information to digest but if you proceed carefully and read this thread, you should be able to survive.

I was about to direct you to user Strados at china-rns.com because they have a huge collection of downloads for the Roadrover but unfortunately it looks like the site has been shut down recently. There might be other sites on the net where you can download.

That's all I can offer for now.
    Good luck.
