Help with central armrest upholstery?

    Hello,

    I bought this piece of leather from ebay to upgrade the central armrest in my 2007 Prius. Now, it seems to fit, but there's too much leather and it is really thick, so I don't really understand how to fit it on the armrest.

    Anyone done this before? Please share instructions / photos / videos! I've only found videos of fixing the armrest with fabric, I believe it should be the same, but it just seems my leather piece is too thick / large...

    I did the same pleather fix on my console. Best recollection is that the console top separates from the black plastic lower portion. I used contact cement to glue the console pleather in place. Excess material was draped and glued over edge. Then the inner plastic piece attaches to cover the excess material. Let us know how you make out.

    PS. I should have glued thin upholstery foam to the lid and then I would have glued pleather cover to the foam.

    I ordered the same one a few days ago. It was supposed to arrive today.

    BEST THING i ever did was right aftewr getting the car was to order a center console cover.

    it was years ago, and i do not remember much, but i do remember instructions were vague and i overthought the installation and tried to remove things that did not need to be removed...do not overthink it.

    Yes. Use the advanced search option (press the "More..." button on the search window that pops up when you click into the search box at the top right of every page) and limit your search to the Gen 2 forums to find relevant Gen 2 posts.
