Does engine flush recommended after head gasket replacement?

    Hi all, for some reason Prius Chat app on my phone doesn't return mush search results as it would with a computer and browser...

    I recently replaced head gasket in a 2010 Prius and I could seem to find any recommendations on if an engine flush is recommended after head gasket replacement...

    Car is currently running smoothly with fresh oil and filter, and I know I probably need to change oil and filter soon just to drain any debris may still in the system out.

    My question is how long do I need to drive it before 2nd oil change and some had mentioned an engine flush is during my search. If so, which brand is recommended?

    I think its dependent on the conditions of the valve train internals, when the gasket was replaced.

    It was just replaced, I've driven 5 miles since head gasket replacement..
    I bought this vehicle knowing I'll be replacing the head gasket, and did so. So far everything is running well, and I have OBDII hooked up while I drove and all temperature is good..

    Just change the oil after 500 miles.

    Do you mean change the oil? Or Flush the Radiator fluid? Because the Antifreeze would have been "flushed" with the removal of the head gasket.

    All liquids should have been removed before the head was removed.

    Both engine oil and coolant were drained before head gasket replacement, my question was if I should and how soon should I drain or flush engine oil after head gasket replacement...
