I think that will work then. Thanks!

You PC members are amazing! ;-)

I am surprised though, that no one has come up with a really good custom cargo area storage compartment that makes full use of the whole back area while protecting.

Don't have the skills myself but thinking something lightweight fabric/vinyl that that wraps around the outside edges rises up about 9 inches (to keep things from falling out the back, and protects around the rest of the edges)? Or am I missing something in my searches?

Someone was looking for a solution like that. There are JDM cargo mat accessories but nothing like 9” tall for a lip.

Appreciate the reply. Looked up JDM and there are some interesting accessories out there, but wow... the costs, and the shipping costs, are crazy!

Carried (3) 4'x8' sheets of 5/8" plywood split lengthwise (6) 2'x8' sections and the hatch does close.

tip, buckle the passenger seatbelt before or after loading as the volume of the Prius complaining about it is very distracting and _very_ loud and the complaining didn't happen until I was on the road.

Spending a few minutes on planned cuts before the purchase allowed me to carry another sheet after paying for a single cut on another occasion.

Yeah. There are some import places in California but I don’t think they’re that much cheaper; just convenient since the product is already on US soil.

My ears were ringing from the chime last time I carried lumber home and forgot to buckle it in. I'd put it in park at every red light to get another minute of relief. I couldn't reach the seatbelt because the latch was under some stuff.

I'm insulating my attic, and home Depot had an amazing deal on cellulose. It's normally $15.80 for a 20 pound bag, but they had 30 pound bags on clearance for $3.03! I was able to fit 8 bags in one trip, but I didn't push it because I had to make a second trip anyway. I bought 6 bags on the next trip. It looks like the maximum capacity is about 11 bags with two on the front seat. Maybe 12 if you don't mind one on your lap while driving. Or more if you take it out of the bags!

Thoughts on getting an 80” x30” wooden framed screen door into the Prime? Trying to avoid asking a family member to borrow a truck.

I got a 96x24 table, but you're going to struggle width-wise unless it'll go diagonally over the front seat.

IMG_20200427_181251.jpg Free mulch. Costs me $0.10 in electricity per trip. I made two trips, and that probably would have been over $100 worth of mulch in bags.

Hello everyone, I’m looking to purchase a 2020 Prius Prime. I was wondering what the area of the space beneath the cargo cover is? Thanks for your help!

Beneath the cargo deck is where the traction battery resides. There is some dead space probably for air circulation but the space is not accessible, unless you do major mod. There really isn't any extra storage space if that's what you are looking for. That is except very small and narrow compartments in both sides (one is used by the tire repair kit and another is empty) and back side that is used for storing the charge cord but most people use it for few tools.

There's also a slot for the cord and tool pouch.

Welcome @laurenbanjo. I think the previous responses misinterpreted your question. Under the cargo cover there is about 4" or so less vertical space due to the elevated deck height. The other dimensions, including the area, are similar to the other models.

Oh...you meant the tonneau cover? That depends on which version you have.

yup, that’s what I meant — sorry for the confusion! Ah, so it seems barely useless to hide stuff, since not much can fit under it. Do some people use some sort of shade in the rear window if they don’t want people peeping at what’s in the trunk? I carry audio gear and most of the time I’m taking the gear out of the car when I get to where I’m going, but sometimes after a gig I’ll go meet up with friends and it would feel safer if I knew people couldn’t see what’s inside.
