    Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. My Prius V 2013 currently has a chuck or rattle sound that comes from the center of the steering wheel, when I go over a bump or go above 70 mph, the sound becomes louder and louder and also when I shake the wheel from right to left, it has noise

Here is the thing that I have tried:

    1) The 2 tight bolt on the steering shaft upper (noise still there)
    2) Replace the steering shaft upper (noise still there)
    3) shake the streel lower shaft (no noise)

    What else I can check?

Are you saying the noise (rattle) is at the center of the steering wheel?
Or the noise is traveling and felt (hear) at the steering wheel?

If the car is on a lift can the noise be reproduced?

My first thought is to remove the horn cover to expose the air bag and look for something broken.
My second though is that the noise is traveling so check the sway bars and rest of suspension.
Then check the exhaust system and motor mounts.

    Good luck.

I know. I used to have smaller Prius gen 1 without any problem until I bought this. Anyway, I had already google but no solution to it.

To make things more clear is: when I remove the upper shaft from the lower shaft and hold the upper shaft and then shake the steering wheel. The noise is there. I remove airbags and clockspring but the noise still there.

here is the video of the noise (hopefully it help).

I really don't know what/where else to look for this problem.

    sorry for the english! :)
