Vents have that chrome tip and I hate the glare. Ideas? Kinda tiny to wrap but maybe not impossible. Sharpie? No thanks. Spray paint? Hard area to paint. Can I remove just the chrome tip? Scared to force it. Can't find anything online

How hard is that going to be to apply safely inside my car? Sounds... Impossible

There's a paint can version, but not sure how uniform that would end up. Removing parts and spray application looks pro.

I guess I'd have to remove my dash, hope the vents inside are removable and tape off everything that isn't the chrome trim.

I might go about it with some hand paint. I wish I could remove that chrome tip. I might but I'm not sure and can't find that info online.

I am not sure if just the chrome can be removed and then painted and reinstalled.

I would try tape or wrap first.
You Sharpie idea doesn't sound too bad.
Taping around the chrome and painting with a lacquer and paint brush may be a good option.
Spray painting in place...yes that is a big production...air brush option desirable.

    Good luck with your project.

I'll see about the wrap. I'll ask my guy. And maybe I'll try prying it a little but I obviously don't want to break it.

Once I figure it out or what? Or of the glare? The glare is hard to catch but when it's bad, it's kinda bad. Not as bad as the other parts of the dash at their worst but maybe half as annoying.

Of the items you want to coat.

I guess the edge of these for example:

Just the tip where you'd touch to adjust the vent angle. The perimiter of mine are actually just a flat black (thank goodness)

I might try a can of plasti-dip, with a small (disposable) foam paint brush. Just float it on. Practice on something first. If you don't like it you can peel it off.

Interesting idea. Curious how the finish would be if painted on. Might be worth a try. I'm also a little worried it would peel off all too easily but I'm not familiar with that stuff at all. Never used it but I'm somewhat savvy with spray paint.

It was often used to coat tool handles; ads showed plier handles dipped into the can, so fairly durable.
