Hey buddy. I am not blaming anyone. When i bought my dorman reman years ago there wasnt many options on the market like now. I was stating a fact that dorman remans are junk. Now i can purchase a brand new battery for the price i paid for a reman. We live and learn. Now why am i done with the hybrids? When u do the math for the extra cost of maintaining the hybrid battery you arent saving much in gas costs. Thats why i say forget the hybrids and go straight 4 cylinder gas. My brother owns 2 priuses and he says the same thing but thats are 2 cents worth. Others will say the opposite. :)

What I have noticed is you have been a member here for less than 2 months and you do nothing but complain about how bad hybrids are. Hopefully you sell your car soon, then it's goodby and good luck with your next car.

Two weeks ago I replaced the original traction battery in our 2005.
It has 135,000 miles. I hope to get to 200k plus without a major engine, trans, or another battery requirement. This has been my wife’s car for 12 years, so we know the car. Got her a new 2018 Prius.
if I had known a NEW Toyota battery was available at $2000 or less, I would have bought that. My dealer had a reman at $1700.
So, I bought a redone unit from HybridBatteries911.
I paid $999 all in with install and 12 month warranty. Installed here at my home. Also I decided to pay $19.95 a month AFTER 12 months for extended warranty - for as long as I want.
In 5 years total, I’ll spend another $1000. More.
I was willing to pay $20 month (after a year) for continued warranty.
If I had spent $2 to $3k up front and had other reason that car was unusable before getting 70k plus miles more, I’d have a greater loss.
so it’s pay as I go. Instead of all up front.
At this rate, 10 years would cost about the same as a new battery but without early car death risk.
    And lower upfront cost.
I recommend hybridbatteries911. In Georgia. Good folks.
(I’m building a “Trius TRX” truck from the 2005 seen in separate thread).

the bigger issue is inconvenience, but it's a personal decision.
