Rmay has some truth, but it’s all dependent on different variables. YOu somewhat have to know the trade to tweak aftermarket setup correctly. It’s not complicated but I’ve seen reviews that rush to quickly to judge what they bought was a horrible system when it was other variables. I will admit that there are several bugs with aftermarket systems which I do encounter maybe once a month but for the most part they are reliable. Bugs like not powering on intermittently but I power cycle by turning car off and on and then it works. I believe my setup has sound many times better than oem and I enjoy the features of CarPlay.

To answer your question, I do not know whether changing speakers will solve your issue since we don’t know whether that is the root cause. The oem head unit has been tweaked very heavily to protect and match the oem speakers. With different speakers, your head unit will limit the range on what your speakers can perform. You may judge it too quickly in saying your speakers don’t sound good when it could be the headunit. . If you install a new head unit, it will open up the range to allow various sounds you wouldn’t be able to tweak with oem. Aftermarket stuff, you can still retain rear camera. You will lose the nice meter stuff that was displayed on the head unit but the meters on the dash multifunction display will stay the same.

Sucks. I wanna be able to go into the menu to change the little things if need be. That's good to know the OEM system is set to protect these terrible and weak speakers. The bass makes my ears feel like they're under water. It's so bad. The way it resonates in my car. I just use headphones. I think I'm done with these speakers. The car will never be as quiet as noise cancelling headphones make it anyway and that is always something the headphones will have over the car.

The main drawback is that it is illegal but I couldn't care less if that's illegal for safety reasons but meanwhile choppers and muscle cars can be so loud that they damage the hearing of people nearby and make it much harder to hear emergency vehicles than my headphones would for me. Dumb law. Not following the no headphone law.

RIP my little dreams for a better sounding system I guess.
