P0101 Mass airflow sensor

    Just popped a code for this. On route to look at another car.

    Is this dangerous to drive as is?

    I'm thinking not but figured I'd check

    Just cleaned the throttle body a few weeks ago and did remove the sensor

    I pulled the MAF

    I inspected it

    Sprayed it down with electrical cleaner

    Also did this to the connectors

    The little glass piece on it looked quite dirty

    I reinstalled it and cleared the code which didn't come back

    I also ordered a new MAF sensor

    The little glass piece should only ever be cleaned with spray cleaner specifically for mass airflow sensors. Nothing else and never should it be physically touched with anything. It is very delicate and damages easily.

    Yeah... It came back on :unsure:

    Got a new MAF due here tomorrow though :sneaky:
