Just came back from a 7000 mile cross country road trip. Ask me anything!

I was very surprised that my 2015 Toyota Prius IV would do so well over a long period of time. Thankfully, my car has 5% tint all around so it was very nice having shade throughout the drive. The only thing we took was some blankets, pillows, extra oil & coolant, tire repair kit, and my OBD2 scanner. Two drivers - my wife & I.

Our trip there was last minute, therefore we drove for 38 hours nonstop to South Carolina (2600 Miles). Spent about 1k miles driving and seeing family as they live in different parts of South Carolina, did my 70k oil change, rotated tires and gave them some air, and made our way back.

Our stops were: Harrison AR, Meteor Crator AZ, Grand Canyon AZ, Las Vegas NV, Bonneville Salt Flats.

We averaged 44 MPG throughout the whole trip. I was very surprised how the car handles at higher speeds, high winds, rain, snow, salt (hehe). Overall, never ran into issues. I constantly checked my oil levels, coolant & power steering fluids to make sure it's not significantly lower.

    10/10 trip.

Glad you came to visit SC!! If you drove all the way to Anderson, did you go 3 more hours to visit Myrtle Beach or any of the areas along the coast?

Sounds like fun -- glad there were no issues.

Since MPG is directly related to speed, what would you say was your average speed?

We stayed in Anderson. It was like 2 minutes from the Walmart. I have family in Inman and Columbia.

We didn’t wanna go to the beach, my wife’s family is big so it was super fun. We bought like 300$ worth of fireworks so we made fun at home.

Honestly it was hard to say because the cluster isn’t accurate. We averaged 44 on the way there, we were going around 75 average.
On the way back we drove about 80-90 mph.

Ask anything eh? Since you bought fireworks out of state, are the fireworks you bought considered illegal in CA?

It was worth a shot to see if there were some left overs in the car by "accident"

Isn't that abolished by electric power steering?

When you find it, please let me know just where to check it. This is one I've been missing too.

It's right next to the blinker fluid reservoir ;).

I bet that's not been checked before either .

have you checked the price of blinker fluid? hand signals can save a ton!

(or just be like most drivers and don't signal at all)
