    Don’t see why not.
Of course, if the original traction battery is showing signs of failure (charging up and discharging very quickly - from full green bars down to purple and back up to green, repeatedly, very quickly) - then obviously you shouldn’t.

Otherwise, 112k on a 2008 Prius Hybrid is nothing in the great scheme of things.
Mine has 123,800 miles on the clock at the moment and traction battery degradation really is negligible (5% to 8%) I would suggest.

Remember, the 2nd Gen Prii’s were over-engineered, and with proper servicing and care have been known to reach 250k to 300k miles and beyond.

By my reckoning, your 2008 is barely run in

I agree. You're the one with the super clean engine oil thread. As along as the battery isn't having trouble like mentioned...

    moto g(7) power ?

In terms of hybrid battery health, Prius are at there very best on long road trips of constant speed on the freeway...

Not enough information to really give a solid answer.
Neither of those factors...112K miles or original hybrid battery would preclude not going on a 3K trip.

But only YOU really have hands on, sight seen, concept of the condition of your vehicle.

If anyone said...112K-Original Hybrid Battery, -3K trip....and then Should I take the trip?
My answer has to be, How the should I know?

I would recommend having the vehicle checked out before embarking at the very least.
On the internet, with only that sentence?
I can neither say....Yay or Nay.
You have to take the responsibility for knowing, or finding out what shape your vehicle is in.

Last year I purchased a used 2008 prius with 232k miles on the original battery. The first 3 day weekend I had we drove from California to Colorado to visit a friend. Got 50mpg and I had a big smile one my face.

Just check your oil becuase some of these cars burn oil like crazy and a long drive like that can burn oil faster than you would expact. I put a funnel and 1qt oil on top of the spare so I can check every so often and top off when needed.

You can do a quick check of your oil, raditor fluids, belt, tires if your worried. Cars are not as scary as most people make them seem.

Can't say if you should or not, but - - -
My 2004 is approaching 200k and still has the original hybrid battery, with zero signs of any problems.

I burn very little oil in mine, but the driving through mountains burns more oil than flat ground for sure...
