I’m reposting this For Sale thread in the sub forum where it probably should have been to start with. To compensate for the fiasco of the error in my posted asking price on the Private Sales main forum I have reduced my asking price by $200.

Just looked at Craig's list in Portland, Oregon and the current price people are selling a 2013 Prius V for is in the $10-11K range... And maybe you think your car is worth $7K more than current rate but how would we know? Is it low Mileage? Has it been modified for the racetrack weekend fun? Have you redone the interior super expensive like? You don't even have any pictures?

I also just looked. Hard to find a gen 1 v with less than 100,000 miles. The one with 49,000 miles is listed at $6,900.
My price is subject to reasonable negotiation.

What does that even mean? And why not post a link to it? Seems like you really aren't that interested in selling it...

    What that means :
If you back click out of " Prius Cars For Sale " then scroll up to "Private Sales" and click there you will find the original post with the description of the car and about 16 pictures. If anyone has any real interest in this car I don't think that is too hard to do.
By the way, I am in no way desperate to sell this car. I really like my v. It is just how I like it. I simply don't need two cars.

    OK, to recap...
I am offering my 2013 Prius v 5 ( not the ATP version with panoramic sunroof etc. ) to Prius chat members first.
I am the second owner having purchased the car last year from Lithia Toyota in Medford, Oregon. The car was purchased at Lithia new and serviced there at all appropriate intervals ( as documented by carfax ) and then traded back in on the purchase of a new Rav4 hybrid. The car was in exceptional condition with 38,000 miles. I have not yet reached quite reached 46,000 miles.
Since I have owned this car I have added the following :
    3 Cusco chassis braces
Curt trailer hitch with trailer wiring
    Toyota TRD rear sway bar
    all interior lights LED
    Speedline LED projector fog lights
    LED DRLs and backup lights
    window visors
    mud flaps
    shorty antenna
    windshield sun shield
in addition, since I've had the car I have had a full brake service with fluid replacement, a 4 wheel alignment, and one oil change, all performed at Kendall Toyota in Eugene

As you will note, this car has pretty much been a hobby for me for the past year or so. I like this car a lot and would not think of selling it this soon if I had not succumbed to a desire to go full EV with the purchase of a 2020 Bolt EV. As has been noted elsewhere, a Prius is a " gateway drug " for an EV enthusiast. The great deals on Bolts were to good to pass on so that finally sealed the deal for me.
As I've said, I don't need two cars but I'm not desperate to unload the car. My price of $17,400 is reasonable for what this car represents. If you don't like my price but have genuine interest in owning a rare gen 1 Prius v with less than 100,000 miles we can talk.
I'm willing to have a conversation. When I bought this car I recognized what it was and paid a fair price to take ownership. I searched Oregon and Nor Cal for weeks to find a car in this condition. Since I've owned it I've only made it better. If you aren't able to appreciate what I am offering here there are plenty of well used v's available that can be had at much lower prices. You get what you pay for.

Again... Your price is totally ridiculous... I can right now buy a 2017 plug-in Prius Prime with only 25K miles on it less than 200 miles north of you for $17K... 2017 PRIUS PRIME premium plus free delivery 500mi... You aren't selling your car, you're pretending to sell it.

Just take a look at all the Prius selling from private owners on Craigslist for $17K in Sacramento area where there's a huge amount of them for sale. Down there $17K will get you a Prius that's less than 3 years old. And you think you're going to sell a discontinued Prius V that's is 7 years old for the same price? It makes no sense whatsoever what you're trying to do.

OK, to belabor the point :

Do you recognize the difference between a Prius v and a Prius Prime ?
    Do you recognize the difference between a gen 1 v - 2012 - 2014 and gen 2 v - 2014 - 2017 ?

The Prime is a great car but severely lacking in space behind the rear seat in addition to no spare tire. I test drove one when they came out as a potential replacement to our gen 3 lift back but could not get past the lack of utility.
The Prius v is to a degree a purpose built tool that offers not only the Prius experience but also massive interior space and utility.
In addition, I prefer the aesthetics of the gen 1 v over the gen 2 v so when I searched for one I was only looking for and limited my search to gen 1 Prius v models from 2012 to 2014 with less than 50,000 miles.
This car is not on Craig's list. I am offering this v to a like minded Prius enthusiast with a narrow focus on a particular vehicle that meets a particular need, not to a general member of the public looking to acquire basic transportation at the minimum expense.

I'm done trying to help educate you on reality... You're going to have to learn for yourself... Prius Prime is the highest ranked, most trouble free Prius ever built and they're in demand to such an extent that people are on waiting lists and even travel across country just to buy one.

Additionally in Sacramento I wasn't referencing Prius Prime I was referencing all Prius less than 3 years old selling for your asking price.

You don't even seem to realize that your 7 year old Prius V was a failure and was discontinued due to low demand... Again it makes no sense what you're doing unless your goal is to see how many years you can go selling a car for almost twice as much as it's currently selling for.

Looks like @jaymac and will have to start another car sale thread. Lots of poo-poo in this post.

Good luck with the sale. I agree, the five has way more room than the prime. That prime hunchback is a huge detractor for me. I hope they figured that problem out for the fifth generation.
