Throw them down a mine shaft where they begin recycling.

wild guess - with capacity somewhere around a measly 50% remaining in EV packs - they would make a great residential battery backup .... grid leveling or grid abandoning .... although your utility company will have a conniption once everybody is able to be off grid. And the time these suckers are in production, just think what will be on the immediate Horizon.

We are all used to buying a new car because that is the way to get the new cool features be they an 8-track or safety or that aero look or even the new form factor. You sell your old car down the food chain. But down the food chain, they don't have chargers and they don't have garages and they don't have much money.

Cars wear out not just in the engine area,, think suspension, brakes, door handles, sensors, wiring, etc. Even if they are EVs. So is the person who spent $50k for the latest T-car going to keep it more than 5 years? At the top of the food chain it is all about cool and status. Lower, it is about cost and practicality. Tell me when the typical apartment building will have chargers everywhere? The senior living establishment? The hospital? How will the nurse who can only afford to live 50 miles away handle an EV? How can a robust secondary market exist to support the new car sales even with a million mile battery?

maybe that's why he hasn't received any orders yet. or, it could be that there's no way to mass market a product that cost ten percent more, and has no proven history.

what manufacturer is going to risk a 16/1m warranty, transferable to second and third parties?

The one down the street from me started installing them 3-4 years ago.
But chargers "everywhere?" What does that even mean? One per parking spot?
Even one for every 2 to 3 spots is a lot

Tesla isn't buying this battery(yet). The Chinese Model 3 SR is getting the LiFe cells that CATL has been supplying to EVs for years.

For cars, this battery is more about assuring buyers new to EVs that they don't have to worry about it, which was a concern people once had about hybrids.

But CATL doesn't just supply batteries for cars. They also supply them for buses and standby power. Uses that see a service life far longer than the typical car.

I am getting a little tired of seeing "beta" claims about EVs, batteries, and charging networks. Then the real products show up and we find EPA rating and plugshare comments revealing the truth.

BTW, I tried to SHORT some NKLA stock for a week only to discover those offering the 'borrowed' stock have jacked up their fees. It is impractical to SHORT the stock and it'll be a cold day before I buy any NKLA stock.

Remember its really touted as 16 years 1 million miles, and I think they can do that. Lots of cars are still on the road at 16 years. Those normally don't go 1 million miles - about 63,000 miles a year. These often are on their second or 3rd owner.

Say you make the car nicer then perhaps people will pay more ;-) But not much chance of many hitting that mileage and testing a waranty.

Million-mile battery implies it will charge AND discharge for a lot more cycles as well as last a million miles. V2G more practical? Power backup more practical?
