Thanks very much for the info. It seemed strange that both numbers kept popping up together.

I paid $650 extra to have them put on my new Prius Prime. They told me that the serviceman first assigned to install them would not do it and they had to get a "master" serviceman to do it. By the way, I see mention of rear lights. Mine only came with the ones for the front doors. Do the sets come in two versions?

Only my fronts are illuminated. Maybe something aftermarket would but I'm pretty sure this is the only Toyota version.

Our 2010 came with the illuminated sills (front illuminated, rear plain), and I assumed it was part of our level. Lately I figured out that's not the case, they were always an accessory.

At any rate, they were just there, from a sale that fell through if I'd speculate. I'm surprised that door sills, just plain/functional protective ones, are not standard.

That they have illuminated logos, that's "big whoop" for me, basically means running the 12 volt down faster, if you leave a door ajar.

I think Toyota should provide functional non-illuminated sills, as a standard item. I'd balk, at $100's to get such a simple item.

I haven't tried to put a meter on them but I always assumed LEDs were used to light the sills. If so, the power draw for just those would be so small that your battery would would last quite a while without noticing.

I do find the slight amount of illumination does make getting in/out of the vehicle a bit easier when parked in dark places...Probably not so much so that they are worth any "extra" cost vs. if they made non-lighted ones but I wanted something there and this is how they came.

Definitely a luxury item, not a necessity but they do look sharp.

Thanks for posting the instructions. It helps with the decision. I just ordered them last week from Olathe Toyota in Kansas. $178. I'll have to wait for it to warm up before installing so the adhesive will take. Maybe by March??? It was 3 degrees this AM. LOL

I've been struggling forever today trying to find a wire to tap into with the prius prime plus. Without a footwell light this install goes from average to very challenging. Anyone install on plus trim?

Hi dcantat, I am facing the same issue with the illuminated door sills (no footwell lights). Were you able to determine which wires to tap into? Advice would be appreciated.

Soldered mine behind the factory footwell connector almost a year ago. Was working great then yesterday the footwell light got super dim & the doorsill stopped coming on. Getting 2.8 volts at the footw light plug & the 7.5 amp fuse test fine. Dome lights & door courtesy lights power on. Took a fuse tester to all the other fuses under the dash & look good too. Unplugged the negative battery overnight & same results. What else to check?
