Brake light switch button stuck; brake lights won't turn on; any quick fixes?

I went to the Toyota dealership because I didn't know if my 12v battery was bad or if the switch was bad.

I described the problem very specifically that the brake lights don't turn on, thus the car doesn't either. The intake mechanic didn't even have to take it back to check everything out before simply reaching under the steering wheel and pressing the brake light switch a few times, then everything was fine.

However, it did not stay that way, and multiple times I have found myself having to twist my torso into a weird position under the steering wheel to press the button with the end of a skinny pen a few times so that I could start the car into Ready Mode. The part is an elongated, orange, rounded button with a metal spring much like the inside of a pen and which I could only see while pressing the brake with my hand, otherwise it is pressed down by the brake arm. I guess it doesn't pop out all the way like it should.

I think that is very clear evidence that this is the problem. Is there any way I can unstick it without replacing the whole switch? Lubricant, etc After some research I realize that this is not a super simple job like windshield wipers or air filter replacement, so without a simple fix I will just take it to the mechanic to replace. There are no videos or guides that tell you how to do this specific job on this specific make and model, sadly.
