I am looking to buy a Prius. This will be my first car as i am in highschool. There are two options. A 2012 four with 95,000 miles or a 2013 four with 123,000 miles. The major difference I see is they are different years, different miles, and the 2013 has leather interior. Does anyone have any insights on other differences or which I should choose? Thank you!

Basically they are the same car, the 13 with leather probably has more options on it, if they are the same price I personally I would probably buy the lower mileage car.

Think about it this way. In most cases, 28K miles will have more wear and tear than one year of time. Of course what's more important is how well the previous owners took care of the car. I would suggest you buy the one that fits your budget better, and/or buy the one in better condition. If both were well taken care of and fit your budget (including maintenance budget), the 2012 will likely be your better choice simply because it has almost 30K miles fewer. For the average driver, that's 2 or 3 years worth of driving distance.

    welcome!

some gen 3 prius have a severe egr circuit problem. educate yourself on it by searching here, so you will be prepared to investigate after the purchase.
high school is a great time to start learning auto mechanics, and you can save yourself a thousand dollars at the dealer, and possibly many thousands down the road.
    all the best!(y)
