Has anyone had any experience with these guys?I had them replace the battery in my 2005 Prius in December (2019) with a "Lifetime Warranty" and 7 months later it is kaput. The guy who installed it (Bob Kirk) was very helpful, but when contacting them regarding the warranty, the fellow who responded used every way to not fulfill the obligation and hung up on me and will not respond to any communications. I have read on another site that this is his normal method of Customer Service. I have since taken it to a Toyota authorized shop, who verified that the only problem with my car is a deceased battery. I have documentation and yet still no response. The local shop pointed out, what I already guess I knew. I was scammed. Avoid these guys like the plague as their "warranty" will not be honored. Also goes under the name Pensacola Hybrid Repair.

Did the other shop give you the codes? I would send them in and have a lawyer send a demand letter prior to a lawsuit. 9C475264-A436-45A7-8EFC-D116D1C7E30C.jpeg

Wow you got 7 month's on a whack a mole? That's awesome and hard to believe. Usually they only last a few months then you discover you only have a tail light warranty.

Their warranty has so many outs in it. Being out of state, it wouldn't be worth the time and energy and that is what they depend upon. Oddly my attorney is in Florida, but again, it would be bleeding a stone and I would not want a replacement from them, as demonstrated from the first one installed. I would just get another piece of garbage. I am going to follow the conventional advice that most have on Priuschat and go with a new battery installed by trusted local mechanic mechanic.

I have learned my lesson from mobile repair services offering a deal too good to be true. You may be an exception, I can't say, but the one I dealt with and the others I have read about have totally soured me on it.

Where were you 7 months ago? Probably here, and I probably read one of your posts and chose to ignore. Lesson learned.

Hi Stephen, I actually am one of those who will buy a new one. That's why I put in the link: http://newpriusbatteries.com/
From what I hear, good prices for new Prius batteries. There are really good battery experts in here who have rebuilt their own for pennies on the dollar. Their wisdom is paying off for them. I can't do what they do, but knowing this, I am willing to buy a new one.

But you do know those new batteries you have to assemble yourself or pay someone to assemble them for you in your metal battery case.

If you are not doing a DIY install, I think it is a better deal to have Toyota do the work and get a longer nationwide 3 year Toyota warranty (on a genuine Toyota battery) for $100 more. I paid $1700 for the battery plus $445 for install, taxes, fees and a loaner car at my dealer. Toyota batteries have been tested for 20 years ... the "new" design from Colorado has only been tested for two years.

That's almost exactly what I paid for an installed new OEM from Texas Prius Battery Replacement back in 2017; still a good deal today. (y)

While some may be worse than others, I think the title should read:
Refurbished battery dealers: AVOID them ALL.

So? It is the same battery and it will outlast a 3-year warranty and then some, so a moot point really.

I was scammed by fixmyhybrid com as well. I paid $1,100 for two cell replacements with a one year warranty. My Prius failed within 3 weeks. I called, emailed and texted every day for about a month until I finally got an email stating that they are out of business as of 8/1. They have no yelp or google reviews(which should have been a big red flag.). The people I delt with were Robert Kirk and Tracy Adcock. They are based out of Pensacola, FL and use a 850 area code. Beware do not trust these people.

Fix my hybrid is bad news. Nice enough in the beginning, but have paid for two installations and both failed in under 13 months so I've paid $1,500 and they have failed again. Completed a warranty application on their site and no one has contacted me and when you try to call no one answers and you can't leave a message.

It sounds like you have paid a lot more than a new battery now. Had you gone with a new battery in the first place you, it would have been done & dusted and would not have given the HV battery any more thought.

I got scammed as well. I think I paid about 1100 in total. I think mine lasted about six months. The guy said that he hardly has any recalls and I told him I doubt that I would like to see proof. I told them rebalancing Prius batteries can be finicky unless you bypass or group the voltages across many banks, to avoid some of the error issues. I just called the numbers and visited the website today, everything is disconnected or no longer available. I recently sold my Prius because I got tired of messing with it. I should’ve known something was up when he carried multiple extra batteries for a multiple extra batteries for a single stop and had to switch it out on site. I should’ve told him I would give him 100 bucks for his travels. Maybe 200 and sent him on his way. I personally think that the guy that installed them was not the crook and the crook was the owner who played the disabled person card every time I press them about details of the warranty or quality of his work. $250 install fee after the 960 I think it was “certified battery” puchase.

Used cells are worn in every case and worn out most of the time. These fly by night guys are trying to break the laws of physics. Seriously. New cells give you another 150k miles of no battery blues.
