MAP sensor cleaning

    I have used brake cleaner and it is said not to use it but my MAP sensor didnt bug out, just use the highest alcohol you find. The WD40 will attract dirt and the MAP sensor will fail sooner than before.

    At least on 3rd gen, MAP sensor is pretty much swimming in oil, from the PCV.

    That’s what I used; mighta been overkill. There appears to be 2 kinds. On our ‘10 it has what looks like a small resistor, in a plastic cage.. Later years, there’s nothing showing.

    can oily MAP cause engine to stay ON and increase RPM while running with ICE and breaking on speed bumps? im going to clean it with CRC MAF cleaner if it doesn't hurts the sensor.

    I doubt it, mainly because oil in the intake manifold happens fast, with the PCV dumping in right there. Even an oil catch can doesn’t completely stop it. So oil-soaked MAP sensor is "situation normal".
