The auxiliary jack in my centre console box is dead and the part number sticker is missing. I have seen a bunch of Toyota ones out there. I’m after a replacement for my 2010 ex Japan I think the part number is 86910-48010 but what I really wan to know is whether 86910-2010 or 2020 are compatible. I have factory nav (non JBL). TIA. I’m pulling my hair out over this one.

They are repairable. There are videos on youtube of people opening them up, semi easy,
and finding poor solder joints and bent contacts. A lot cheaper than a new one from Toyota.
You can try ebay for one, it would cost a lot less than oem.

Yeah the internals are missing the connector (plug) is still there. I need the black plastic casing and the internals.

That’s why I need a complete replacement. I see plenty on eBay but the difference in price between the number I stated above and the ones that end in 2010 or 2020 is huge. I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that they may be compatible but I am seeking confirmation from any members who know.

I bought one that also has a usb port. I've been using it for over 2 years.
I had used an extended on so I could plug it into the one in the center arm rest and run the
cable to the front, until I purchased the aux/usb one. I know they were $10 or under.

See a "car audio" shop in your area.
    Like Best Buy maybe.
(I'm not a big fan of Best Buy but if they are the only option........)

I wonder what a while new head unit would cost from a salvage yard ?

I’m not keen on changing the audio system at this stage. I’m really just after a compatible plug n play part I already have the factory connection just need the aux port to plug the 8 or 9 pin connector (Can’t remember) to. There are loads of Toyota ones out there and I’ve read conflicting things about part numbers. If they are interchangeable I’d prefer to buy one of the cheaper ones as there can be up to 100 dollars difference.

Did the USB one use the factory connection at the back?

No, the first one was just an extension one.
The usb one was also an extension and I tapped into an unused slot in the fuse box.
There are only 2 connectors you have need for audio.
But, check ebay for one with the correct pin connection. They have them. Or just do a
regular internet search, they will pop up from all over. Also junk yards probably have them.

I think this needs some clarification.

The "aux port" is a simple stereo audio jack with no more than 4 wires that is used as an input.
It sounds like you are talking about something entirely different.

And I suggested replacing the whole head because with a simple one like you have that might be available for around $20.

I have the factory nav and it isn’t cheap to replace. I’m replacing a broken jack that was in the centre under the armrest. I doubt it’ll be cheaper to replace the head unit.

Sorry. My mistake. I should have paid closer attention to the first post.

I repeat my suggestion that you visit a car audio shop.

Is this ONLY the aux. jack......or are there other things in the same assembly......like a USB port ??

It was just the aux jack. I need to put it in the same place as the heated seat buttons take the space under the centre bridge.
