After replacing the subframe, the control arms, and right side CV axle, both wheel bearings on the front, the tie rod ends and the shock absorbers the car has the brake abs and VSC lights on. I've done this before and I reset it by the paperclip method. This time it doesn't work. The lights come back on again immediately. And after I reset them I turn the car on and by the time I hit the brake I hear and feel something hit the brake pedal back up. Car was without any issues whatsoever before I changed those parts. I did an alignment too and they said they reset and recalibrate the steering angle but it comes back again. When I start driving the car I press the brakes and the car doesn't stop well at all. I should really push the pedal to slow down and then the rear tires lock up if the pedal is depressed too much. I feel like there is absolutely no brakes on the front.
For some reason the techstrea i have doesnt want to work on any car. Any idea or help is greatly appreciate it. Thank you

take it to someone whose tech stream does work. maybe a looseconnectiion or wiring issue to the speed sensors

Although Techstream would give more information, a jumper wire to get the blink codes would be a good start while Techstream isn't cooperating.

You read the blinking codes by using "the paperclip method" you've already mentioned for its actual purpose, then instead of pounding the brake pedal to clear the codes, count the blinks of the dash lights and write them down as two-digit codes.

Amazing how nearly everyone who finds "the paperclip method" on the internets ends up thinking its purpose is to clear codes instead of to learn what's wrong with the car.

It's just a matter of focusing your attention on one light at a time and counting those blinks, without letting the other ones distract you or mess up your count. Then shift your attention to another light and do the same.

For example, your tire pressure monitor is blinking two codes: 22 and 23.

You also have codes being blinked on your VSC, ABS, ECB, and airbag lights. After you've counted those blinks the same way, you can post them here and might get some help looking them up. (That's done in the Repair Manual, and Elektroingenieur put together a nice wiki page with information on several different ways of getting access.)

It is important to keep track of which codes were blinked on which lights, because they are found in distinct places in the manual and sometimes the numbers can overlap, and give you the wrong idea if you find your code but in the wrong section.

    Hey ChapmanF!,
I enjoyed reading a bunch of your post from 2017 about troubleshooting codes related to ABS ( try to learn as much as I can)

I just jumpered pin 4 and 13 to read my codes on my 2006 Prius (2nd Gen). Here are my codes:

    Tire pressure: 21 22 23 24 77
ABS: 32 originally blinking this code and now it just blinks continuously. Just thought I add it just in case.
    Yellow (!) : 58
The traction icon ( little car that looks like it's swerving) : on solid

Also the red triangle of death is on.

These are the codes I have now. These lights came on after I was troubleshooting a different red triangle that I believe was for low oil. I originally thought it was for a battery, which I bought and already changed out. I'm very embarrassed to admit that I forgot to check the oil in a while and the RTOD ( red triangle of death) came on for that. After I filled it up and cleared the code. The RTOD stayed off for about an hour, then all of a sudden I get the RTOD with a yellow (!). I drive the car home. Turn off and I got all the abs warning lights and the car won't go into drive or reverse, only neutral. I unplugged the main battery cable the the two other Cannon plugs in the battery compartment many times. I do see that one of the Cannon plugs is related to "braking" so a bit worried I fried a box. Thanks for any help you can provide.

OK, so guys this is what happened after i plugged the Techstream.

    CODES
C0200 Front speed sensor RH Circuit
C1235 Foreign Object is attached to the tip of speed sensor RH
C1202 Brake fluid level too low/ Open circuit in Brake fluid level Warning switch circuit

I did clear the codes for the speed sensor and good, but the brake fluid code didnt clear. Well I looked under the hood and i have not attached the plug that goest into the brake fluid reservoir. DUHHHH:mad:
I did that and all codes dissappered.

I have driven the car with non regen brakes for few days and it required a little bit more pedal power and mostly the rear were working. I could feel the rear end getting down after i press the brake. Just like if you put the hand brake on. Now that i cleared the codes the regen brakes are back, no lights, brakes are strong but when i push the brakes just before the car stops the traction control comes on just like if it detected a tire slipping on ice. And there is no tire slipping.
I will flush the brake system and will check if i did any damage to the rear shoes or something as they got quite hot with my driving previously

The problem with the speed sensor sensor is that when i took off the bolt for the sensor it snapped. Normally it does that ... so i redrill a hole into the knuckle but who knows, maybe its still catching on something when i hit the brakes and trips the traction control..
