Ah, sorry that your local dealer is not helpful. Ugh! (We lucked out there for a change!)
That would force you to rely more on the manual and others for info you need.
It seems that many questions asked here are not covered well enough in the manual and can be delved into with input from folks who have driven the car. A special thanks goes to those with deep experience in car mechanics and its impact on real people driving the cars. The rest of us do value your hard earned expertise and appreciate the time you spend explaining the basics to the rest of us.
Many of us provide expertise on one type of forum and receive the benefits of others' expertise on other forums. So if you feel that we bozos are just using you, please realize that others devote huge parts of our lives providing info to, mentoring and generally looking out for your children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, and so on. And some of us are called teachers in the real world.
This forum is wonderful for helping others enjoy their Prii!

Well, I for one, but I'm sure there will be many others who also will, understand what you mean. (y)

Most of us here are still learning. I am fortunate to have a salesman that knows Prius and still drives his Generation 1 Prius. My son replaced his first Prius with a 2015 Prius v so although this is my first Prius I have some very limited experience.
I also need to research things for my job since I tend to think "outside of the box".

I think it means that the battery is ready to work, ready to do all the recharging, and itsa the right temperature

We kinda went off the rails with this "start button" jazz. I hear Tesla take it even further.

Not really - check what it says in your manual. It just means the WHOLE CAR is ready.

Came here about the READY light, thanks for the great info

Reminded me of my buddy's Oldsmobile diesel -- it had an orange light that said WAIT. So we'd take the key out and wait. We were young and didn't know what glow plugs were.

I cracked out the manual to try and find out how to go back to listening to all songs, as opposed to the one artist that I clicked on using 'Browse' on the USB-connected media player. I felt like grandpa trying to set the time on the VCR. I read it over and over, and still couldn't comprehend what I was reading. I thought maybe I was having a stroke or something. Was it a long press? Press once? 'Browse All'? There's simply no way to tell. :eek:o_O

Yep - just as well there is a CD player. USB is hopeless.
