Tires go round and round

    I am very pleased with my Prime (finally had to fill gas tank for first time!) but not so much with the stock tires that it rides on. :(

    That said, we had Michelin Defenders on our 2011 hybrid and loved the relative soft ride, quietness and had pretty good Iowa winter handling.

    So want to get a set of defenders except can't remember whether we had the defender T+H ( means Traction + Handling??) and defender A/S that I think means All Seasons. I read reviews of both and it seems T+H was better tire.

    Have any members had experience with either or both of these Defenders?

    I thought Defender T+H is just a new name (or new model) that replaced Defender A/S. Micheline website has only T+H. Also, Costco X-Tour A/S is the same tire as Defender T+H.

    I have not tried Defender myself but it was on my short list of tires to replace my last PRIME (2017) OEM Dunlop Enasave. I ended up trading in 2017 PRIME for 2020 PRIME, so I am no longer looking for a new set of tires. What OEM tire do you have on your PRIME?

    There are lot's of great tire choices that crush the OE tires in almost every category, don't lock yourself into just one tire.

    Come up with a top 3, then go from there.

    They are Bridgestone Ecopia so assume these are Prime OEMs. Car rides like tank even at right tire pressures.

    I see you traded your 2017 Prime for a 2020. The 2018 Prime owner of our car also traded his in for a 2020. I am curious why the trade up of relatively new vehicles. Is the 2020 model have such spectacular improvements they leave previous models in the dust? Or are there tremendous state and federal tax breaks that make it worthwhile to trade up every year or so?

    My 2017 had Dunlop Enasave. My 2020 came with BS Ecopia 422 Plus. I also had BS Ecopia 422 Plus on my Gen3 after flat on OEM Ecopia E20. Ecopia was not the quietest tires but when they are new, they are not bad. My 2020 with brand new Ecopia is very comfortable.The problem is BS Ecopia was never meant for driving on snow. I have dedicated snow tires for that. That being said, they are the best LRR tire for high mpg. Your BS Ecopia might be the OEM tires that getting old and loud.

    In our region, PRIME is sold with deep discounts and huge incentives. The cost of trading in 2017 for a new 2020 PRIME was cheaper than keeping 2017 model and buying a new set of tires for it. Besides, I really did not like the large 11.6" head unit and softex seats. I got rid of it by downgrading to LE model. I love the car far better now.
