Hello i'm new to cars, bought this used 2015 toyota prius with 122000mi on it, never had issues then except now currently on 127000mi, check engine light on, used a ob2 tool, and appeared p219a code, this was after few days ago after I gassed up, I had experience with this car before having codes after gassing up about the gas cap, erased codes and never appeared again and this happened probably twice only since i had this car, i tried erasing the code p219a on the first day engine light appeared, and a day after it appeared again, I dont see any leaks, tho since i got the car, Im not sure if it's normal for hybrid cars or prius, when battery is low it shakes and accelerates not as fast when the battery is not low, I always thought about it when it happens it charges the battery because when its charged it goes away, i drove it to the freeway today when high to low speed never does the shaking, only on the street when the battery is low. Only concern what could triggered this code and what could be the problem.

    welcome!

how many miles on her? could be a clogged egr circuit, but you might ant to do more research. something is definitely wrong, i don't think it's the gas cap

currently on 127,000mi, I looked up youtube to check the egr but I dont have the tools to do it and I know it might be easy to most but im a dummy for this lol, I wonder how much would this cost if i could bring to a mechanic or to a dealer to have it checked or fixed

Also its strange when I read the code from my ob2 tool (got cheap ones from amazon) there are different types like permanent, current and not available; also when i try to erase the code before the tool says successfully deleted code, the check engine just disappears and the tool says failed, tunr on ignition etc. I wonder if its just like a random code but it popped out twice already so it shouldnt be a fluke right lol, I cleared the code the other day and its like its second day without the check engine going on. Attached are theob2 tool readings

you needa prius aware scanner. tech stream is the gold standard, but there are some apps that work most of the time such as torque, hybrid assistant and dr. prius.

an egr circuit cleaning usually runs $600.-1,000. it's all labor
