Make sure the gas tank, the leveler inside the tank and the connection to the tank gets checked out. Looks like it may have been pushed out of alignment.

Guessing the rear axle is unscathed?

Ours got a hit in roughly the same zone, but the rear wheel definitely did take a hint, they had to replace rear axle.

So... the repair shop took apart the car. They found additional damages. Need the insurance adjuster to come check it again before starting the repairs.

Actually after the body shop said they found more issues, they did not follow it up. The adjuster said everything is fine.

I just got the car back from the body shop yesterday. I drove it on the highway and realized that the rear left side of the car (where the collision happened) is making a loud rumbling sound whenever i drive over 20 mph. It is so loud that it feels like the engine is in the back. The loudness is proportional to my speed.

Now i think about it, it is possible the shop told the insurance adjuster the car has more problems, but the adjuster brushed it off. The rear axle may have issues. Or alignment issues.

Pretty pathetic that they breezed right by that. When the dust settles, time for another insurer, or bodyshop, maybe both.

The rear axle assembly may not be bent but the unibody is probably compromised at the attachment points. They must not have checked the alignment of the front to the rear. I’ll bet money that the track of the car is not square and the rear axle is askew.

I will contact the adjuster on Monday. I wonder what if they said they tested it and it is ok. Can I appeal things like this.

Your car could be considered unsafe to drive. They really need to do the right thing.

Yeah. This is a really awful experience with GEICO. They want to save money and they don't wanna repair the car properly.

I recently used Geico for my wife's car. However, I have a very good friend who has been in the auto collision business for 40 years and I told Geico that is who I was using to get my car done.
