I recently picked up a sweet 2011 Prius 3 with 31,000 miles on it and as I've done with a 74 FJ55 and a 1996 Land Cruiser.... I can't leave anything in it's stock form especially after digging into Prius Chat and checking out all the great mods.

    List of Mods

New refurbished 17 inch wheels in what they called charcoal
    Michelin Pilot Sport 215/50R 17
Dark Red Tail Lights from Japan, arrived in two days
    TRD rear sway bar (installed)
    Cusco front strut bar
    Cusco Mid Chassis brace
    CDT Audio 6x9 front speakers
CDT Audio 6.5 rear door speakers
    JDM LED Fog Lights
    Second Skin Luxury Liner
    SoundSkins Pro Plus
    Window tint
I plan on on retrofitting the D2S 5.0-G5-R projector using a custom cut bracket designed to work with the Prius headlights that should simplify the install. I'm also working on a harness and resistor that should allow me to run the GTR Ultra LED as a DLR and fire as a high beam along with the HID. In the near future I'll swap out the OEM head unit for one with Apple Car play 54FFBF26-5B3A-44EE-983E-1F758C57860B_1_201_a.jpeg

That almost looks like a DFC peeking out of the front license plate.....

Looking forward to seeing the mods!

    Good Luck!

Forgot about my first mod. Swapped in a pair of Lexus IS300 horns. Took about 15 minutes and the connectors and brackets matched the Prius. My Prius now has a horn that warrants attention.

I've been meaning to do that forever. I was thinking of the Freeway Blaster, but your "plug and play" with the IS300 seems easier -- RU happy with the sound and volume?

Also, did you work through the gap between the chassis and radiator or did you drop the front bumper?

Night and day difference and I worked through the gap, My 1996 Land Cruiser received the
same mod. There's really no reason to use anything but a Toyota/Lexus horn. Toyota has used the same connector on their horns for years.

Ride quality is fantastic and no louder then the 15's ....these Michelin Pilot Sports rip through corners with just the rear TRD sway bar and I have 3 more braces to add.
I’m ok with the wheel color but should have opted for the Hyper Silver. I purchased them from EBAY and had reservations about using an online refinishing company but these are OEM wheels...they’re absolutely perfect ...one wheel required no weights so I’m very happy and they were priced right.$159.00 per wheel shipped.

Walked into a car stereo shop in search of 3 inch dash speakers and walked out with a new head unit. Nothing fancy but it runs Apple Car Play, Bluetooth Audio and I added a infrared backup camera. The backup camera wires are connected to the back of the head unit and currently in the glove box....I'll run the camera wires and install the camera when I pull the interior for the soundproofing.

While I'm waiting for the HID projectors and brackets to arrive i decided to install a pair of GTR Ultra LED's into the stock halogen projectors and another pair in the high beam location. The LED's are producing the same cut off as the halogens but this is temporary until I decide to tackle the retrofit. With the HB setup I'll use a HB splitter. One side of the splitter will run through a resistor and to an ignition hot fuse. The resistor will dim the LED running as the DLR. The other side of the splitter will connect to the OEM HB connector and should fire the LED as a bright HB. I was unable to connect the HB because they sent one 9005 but the other was a 9012 which dose not fit. BTW I'm a dealer for The Retrofit Source so I usually have a few sets of bulbs laying around to play with. The DRL setup is similar to the one I run in the Lexus LX470.
I also swapped in a 194 LED peanut bulb in the parking light location

That's even better. You get to use it. Lexus gets to pay for it.

Hahaha that’s not how it works... the savings to employees is parts cost and labor rate.

I’m giving the GTR Ultra LED bulbs an A+ for output... a little splotchy right in front of the car but considering I’m standing outside of the car you don’t see that sitting in the car as in the last 2 shots and the fog lights will filled that in.. This is a improvement over the halogen bulbs and considering I’m only running one LED in the HB location and the stock bulb on the passenger side the output is great. This is a big upgrade for anyone looking for an easy plug and play option and gives the car that modern crisp look.

First shot is high beam you can see the warm color of the halogen and the third shot in also high beam
