Hi! Trying to remove my reverse beep in a 2011 Prius. Seeing that you need an adapter to do it? Is the picture I attached the right product (ODB2 Male to Female)? Also, is there a free app to do this? Or is Carista my option?
    Thanks!

My dealer turned off the backup alarm for free when I came in for state inspection. The noise bothers them as much as it bothers us.

There are more steps than that and I think that is for the gen 2 (2009 and earlier) Prius.

You need a bluetooth enabled OBDII adapter like Carista. The male to female one is just an extension, won't work.

By the way, "turning off" the reverse beep actually changes it from multiple beeps to one beep.

And to be really clear, not all Bluetooth-enabled OBDII adapters are compatible with the Carista app.

You don't need any adapter. This is the procedure I used to disable the reverse beep on my 2-010 Prius!
How to Disable the Reverse Beep in a Toyota Prius
    BY CONTRIBUTOR

In the Toyota Prius, a hybrid vehicle that combines gasoline and electric technology, the engine turns off when the car stops. This can make drivers forget that the car will move if they push the accelerator. For safety purposes, the Prius sounds what some drivers find an annoying beep when in reverse. If you want to disable your Prius' beep, read the instructions below. This procedure only works on North American Prius models.

    Step 1
Turn the car on by pushing the "Power" button. It should be in either "IG-ON" or "Ready" mode.

    Step 2
Push the trip/odometer button until the dashboard displays "ODO" rather than "Trip A" or "Trip B."

    Step 3
    Turn off the car.

    Step 4
Hold down the brake and turn the car back on. Wait for the "Ready" light to illuminate. Within 6 seconds, push and hold the trip/odometer button for at least 10 seconds.

    Step 5
Continue depressing the trip/odometer button while you shift from "park" to "reverse" and back to "park." Release the trip/odometer button.

    Step 6
Confirm that the trip/odometer displays "b on." Press the trip/odometer button until the display shows "b off." The display "b on" means "beep on," and the display "b off" means "beep off."

Press the power button to turn off the car. Turn the car back on and put it in reverse to confirm that the reverse beep is actually disabled.

    Tips
    • If the Prius' 12-volt battery becomes disconnected at any time after you disabled the reverse beep, the car will reset its defaults and the reverse beep will return. repeat the procedure above to disable it again.
    • You cannot disable the reverse beep while there is a person or any other object sitting in or on the passenger seat.
    Warning
    • The Prius' reverse beep exists to keep you and others safer as you operate the vehicle. Strongly consider this before deciding to disable it.

Dr Prius (requires OBD bluetooth adapter, Carista or others) can do it too. It's around $5 to unlock (have it, can't remember exact cost)?

I wouldn't do it myself, need that beep reminder. It's not that effective though, I've lost track once or twice. Prefer a traditional automatic shifter, never got mixed up with those.
