Nicely done with the install. Does the HD FM stre/am jumps to different pa/rts of the song or commercial progr/am r/andomly? Here, it does that. The FCC no longer enforce FM radio stations to meet certain digital "rebroadcast standa/rds." The stre/am jump happens in all ca/rs in this region equipped HD FM, including in BMWs HUs on other forums :p Even went fa/r as driving up to the physical r/adio station tower with a 21" antenna that replaced the 7" stock on prius roof

you all who have done this, i will be trying to switch out the stock base prius 2 radio for ideally 57032 which i am about to buy.

My question is for those who have done this, do you loose some audio signal without the additional two speakers? does anyone have a schematic of the speaker layout?

Damn, well I know I'm late as hell to this conversation, but I'm planning to do this same upgrade procedure to throw out the base 57031 for the 57032 so that I can get the GPS system.
    1. Does the 86860-47060 antenna fit in the 57032 system? 86860-47060 is for the Gen 2 cars, but it's the only antenna model I can find at all.
    2. Where does the antenna fit once it is plugged in?
    3. How did y'all end up updating the map system? I believe the 2012-2015 Priuses used an SD card to update, but the lowest trim levels don't have a micro-SD input. They only have the USB input. I'm not about to spend $200 to get permanently outdated maps, people!!:LOL:
    4. Just a curious question now. I notice that the 57032 has an extra, much shorter rectangular box that fits underneath the CD drive. Is this the navigation computer?

I have a Prius v, and I upgraded from a 57010 to a 57011 to get HD radio, and GPS.

    1) The factory installed antenna will support the HD radio, but won't include the XM antenna. The connectors should be interchangeable (they were on my 57010 to 57011 upgrade).

    2) Your car won't have a GPS antenna. You can buy an aftermarket antenna that should fit the connector on the back of the new unit's Harmon expansion box (see #4 below). The aftermarket antennas are magnetic mount, and will work fine sitting on top of your new MFD.

    3) Map updates are a $169 upgrade from the dealer, if your new unit does not have an SD card. It involves their service department to do the upgrade.

    4) That rectangular box (made by Harmon) is required to get the GPS to work (it is where the aftermarket GPS antenna plugs in). These boxes go bad frequently, so make sure that the one you buy has that box, and that the seller assures you that it works. The Harmon box is often stripped off, and sold separately, because that box is used in a lot of Toyota MFDs. You need a working Harmon box for GPS and probably the HD radio to work.

    ALSO NOTE:
Be sure you get the cable that connects the two boxes together!

Thank you for your reply. Truly, I am very grateful that someone is still replying after all these years.

Good news! I sourced a 57032 HU for only $50 (!!!!!!) on eBay. It came with the navigation Harmon box and the connecting wire, as you pointed out. I made sure to ask. The damn thing works like a charm! I love it so much. I got the GPS antenna separately and just buried it beneath the head unit. It works just fine. HD Radio work, and I don't have an XM subscription so I'm not going to bother with the XM antenna.

One big question I still have is this. How do you get a donor 57032 to connect to Entune on the brand new Toyota app? When this thread was created, Entune was still run by the Entune App Suite app, which evidently allowed you to connect the 57032 HU with ease, so long as you provide a compatible VIN number.

It hasn't been as easy on the new Toyota app. I googled a random 2015 Prius Three, copied the VIN number, and added it to the Toyota app. I then found the "Connect App Suite" button buried deep inside the app. The first time I clicked on the "Connect" button, I was prompted with an agreement. I clicked OK, and a prompt came up on my head unit to connect to the Internet. The joy was short-lived, however, as the connection immediately died a few seconds later. Now, every time I click on the "Connect" button in the Toyota App, all it says is "Connecting..." indefinitely. The Bluetooth connection to my phone is fine. I'd like to use the Entune apps. Is there a workaround?

    UPDATE:

I got Entune to work by plugging my phone into the AUX/USB port. Once I plug it in, it prompts me automatically to connect my phone for the Internet. I have to do this every time. I think that's perfectly fine! I leave my phone plugged in anyway so it can charge; now I'll just leave it plugged into the USB port to get Entune AND to charge. I've basically Frankensteined/jailbroken my car, so it's understandable that the Toyota app would not connect under normal circumstances (via Bluetooth). In fact, I'm not sure how it's connecting: is it still a Bluetooth connection if the phone is plugged in?

The Entune "App Suite" is hilarious. It's just a bunch of random apps (lol who uses Stocks and Weather?) on laggy, low-RAM hardware. Still, it's super cool to get this legacy technology working on my seven-year-old car. I just got the latest software version, 5.2.0, after updating, so that's great.

Now on to seeing if I can get these old a** maps updated. I called the dealership, and I got the vibe on the phone that they had no idea what I was talking about. The service center was supposed to give me a call back, and they never did LOL. I'll phone them again.

Hello Everyone. Amazingly informative discussion. I have been studying this thread for quite some time and have finally decided to take the leap and replace my 57031 with the 57032. Unlike most in this thread I'm actually trying to activate the SAT specifically. I live in an area where I lose mobile internet often and would benefit from the factory SAT setup. As such, I still have 2 questions.
    1. I'm still uncertain if I can use the existing roof antenna or need to add an additional one
    2. Is the SAT tuner built into the HU or do I need to add the tuner module

Thanks so much for any input. Cheers!
