Unusual AC aound accompanied by fluctuating airflow.

    WHO replaced the compressor ?
    Don't they offer any warranty on their work ??

    The dealer replaced it and yes they did. I'm doing my research first so they can't scam me into buying more than I need. That way they done say "oh the compressor is fine, it's the *lists different expensive items*"

    It is possible the expansion valve is clogged, or the orifix tube. Is that was the Prius has?????
    And/or receiver/dryer?
    This would cause the compressor to not get enough coolant and strain trying too, and make a lot of
    noise, and possibly burn up the compressor.
    My brothers Jetta had a clogged expansion valve. Easy to get to!!!

    That sounds possible, however the compressor sounds good now. You can hardly hear the new one. I'm guessing if that was a part of it, Toyota fixed it for me. This new sound is definitely not the compressor.

    I ran your test, no the fans do not tick when spun with my fingers. The sound occurs closer to the cabin than those fans are located.I also checked the cabin air filter and removed one leaf, as well as checked the blower motor. Which was fine.
