Dipsticks must be a delicate item for them to handle.

If it’s a safety recall and you’re in California- you cannot renew the tags on your car until the recall is done. That’s what happened for my FRS last month

No sure about anyone else's mileage, but I sought advice in private chat. It was my theory that my car, with a 5 year old 12v battery was left in the "on" mode for the duration that it was at the dealer (probably 8 hours). As a result, after picking up my car and driving for the next few days, my HV battery kept trying to make up for the lack of 12v storage on hand. So, my engine would turn on almost all the time. Even while driving on the freeway! I was going to replace my 12v at the 5 year mark anyway, so I did it. Mileage is back to 45 to 47 city and 49 to 50 highway. And the enging doesn't come on as much anymore. Yes, I did this without checking codes and the like. Private chat advice was spot on.

I'm not exactly sure you mean "lack of 12v storage" -- the 12v battery is basically just a load except when in the ACC position. In the READY position, the HV battery supplies all 12v needs.

Your symptoms could possibly be explained by the HV battery depleting (causing ICE start) while attempting to recharge your nearly dead 12v battery.

I think Mr Burns (Montgomery) is saying that the hv bat is trying to recharge the 12v bat and that’s why ICE is staying on. In a situation that Mr Burns 12v bat is no longer able to hold charge, HV bat will continuously try to charge the 12v bat until it is full, but it can’t be charge full anymore and never reach full capacity.

You said better than I could. That's basically what happened. Original battery could have lasted another year or two, but I was going to change it at 5 years anyway.

    Hey ,

As it seems mine is not anymore in the list of this campaign! Although it seems similar... In my case as I understood this campaign reprogrammed power Management control ecu which seems to decide and drive gas motor and the mgs 1 and 2...
so I've noticed the difference but unfortunately the screenshots of cdl and dcl values are in the old cellphone which is dead... So until I recover them(somehow) I remember but can't prove that these limits were higher if someone have the hybrid assistant and or torque and wish might check these values and send them before and after the campain... As I recall the limit was 28 to 30kw dcl and cdl that turned too low now... 22 kw... Which is similar the power loss I can notice during acceleration (it used to do 0-100kmh or 0-60mph in 10 seconds... Which does 12 now... Also the ice stays on longer starts sooner etc... the campaign did Anything that could in order to distress the hv bat and the inverter (at least the dc bat part with the capacitors) of course it still drivable and during normal operations there is not noticable change... But if I want to overtake an other car in a steep hill I can surely notice the difference... so as ChapmanF suggest if there is someone that can document the values for future reference then is welcomed :)

It would certainly be good to have more such data. As I understand it, both of those limits are dynamically calculated by the Battery ECU based on other factors, so apples-to-apples comparisons could still be difficult even with some readings of just those limits. But growing the set of data we have is never a bad thing.

On my drive home, I went to check my MPG and the damn low key battery came on instead so I have no idea what my MPG was. Is there some quick way to turn it off so I can see the info? I hadn't driven the car in 34 days so I should have taken the battery out of the key fob. I guess it constantly drains it even if it's not in use. Lesson learned.
