Hello experts I hope I can get some help, sorry if someone have asked this in the past (I couldn’t find it on the search). I own a great 2019 prime limited and I love it except 2 things. Blind spot mirrors option which I don’t have, I was wondering let’s say I’m buying OEM brand new side mirrors with the BSM option from the dealership and I’ll change them with my non BSM mirror will they work? Will the BSM option pop on the menu? I don’t want to put those cheap small mirror to overcome this obstacle, please advise. Second thing is the the driver seat, I drive 250 miles a day on average and this seat kills my back, is there anyone in here that changed the whole seat assembly to a different one? I saw members here add some inside sponges etc.... but I don’t want to use this method. Thank you for reading and I hope to get some good advice from you guys. Have a great weekend and stay safe 87910-47420 Toyota side mirror with BSM
I assume you have the Plus or Premium trim, not the Advanced trim. Advanced trim comes with the blind spot monitor feature. No, it's not possible to retrofit. It's not just the mirrors, the BSM feature uses radars that are installed inside the rear bumper to detect objects in the blind spot.
So basically that’s almost impossible mission? Can I buy those rear bumper radar and install them? Will my current wiring harness will support this radar? Or each 2019 Prius prime uses a different wiring harness? Thank you very much.
Yes I do have the Premium version. So basically that’s almost impossible mission? Can I buy those rear bumper radar and install them? Will my current wiring harness will support this radar? Or each 2019 Prius prime uses a different wiring harness? Thank you very much.
If you want a factory setup, it'll be very expensive. There are aftermarket solutions. Here's one that another member installed on his Gen 3 Prius. Blind Spot Detector Add-On | PriusChat
It's likely impossible or the amount of reverse engineering needed would be infeasible. Just the left side sensor seems to be around $900 on the parts site. You'd likely be better off trading in your car for a higher trim model. Trade in value is good and I have seen some posts from priuschat members discussing their trade in experiences, so that's probably a more cost effective option.
You can buy aftermarket ones from pioneer and a few other brands. In bought a cheaper license plate version of Blindspot and it works ok. I drive a lot of highway miles. Don’t have any back issues but curious what you mean - some kind of lumbar support pillow?
Hello. I think there are solutions to the problem, for not a lot of money. This link sells the 2018-20 For Toyota Camry kit. Do not be afraid that this is a Toyota Camry, not a For Toyota PRIUS. These two models have the same mirror shape. Therefore, they are suitable for Toyota PRIUS 2016-21. Good luck!
Unfortunately, the rules of the channel, as a beginner, do not give me the right to post a link to the product. According to the rules, it will be available to me after some time.
I guess I've reached the level to post links. This is a link to what I wrote above. https://aliexpress.ru/item/1005003933444022.html?ck=in_edm_other&edm_click_module=alg_products&gatewayAdapt=glo2rus&item_id=1005003933444022&pdp_npi=2%40dis%21USD%21US%20%24250.23%21721%121%24
