2008 runs rough codes P0A92 C1310 B1421

    P0A92, C1310, B1421
    Runs rough, especially at warm up. I cleared all the codes and these are the ones that came back.
    BlueDriver says
    P0A92 - hybrid generator performance, transaxle failure
    C1310 - no code definition, fix range from new fuse to new HV battery
    B1421 - Solar Sensor Circuit passenger side

    It looks like I need a new transmission. I'd like to be able to verify it before I tear the car apart to replace it.
    Any test suggestions would be great.

    I cleared the codes again and the C1310 disappeared.
    P0A92, B1421 are still present.
    In park I can press on the throttle pedal and get acceleration up to mid RPMs and then the Triangle, (!), VSC, CEL turn on and the RPMs drop to flat level and the throttle no longer has any effect in park. I can still get the car to move forward and reverse.

    I have a parts car. I found the location of the Solar Sensor, in the front left corner of the dash, under the State inspection stickers.
    The sensor is easy to get to, if the car is in pieces. It is installed from the top, but needs to be removed from the bottom. If you push the driver's seat all the way back, lie on your back and reach up, you may be able to get to it, squeeze the two clips and push it up out of the dash.
    After swapping the Solar Sensor between the two cars, I cleared the codes again and restarted the car, ran it until the Triangle appeared. All the codes came back. Swapping the sensor had positive result.

    The passenger side solar sensor and the associated code is not really an error unless you got the B1421 outside in bright sunlight. Most times, codes are read inside in a garage setting so the B1421 will be present and is completely normal and not indicative of an error.

    I think you might have wasted your time on that red herring.

    C1310 means that the brake ECU has heard the news of trouble in the hybrid system, so the codes from the HV and battery ECUs should be reviewed to get the real scoop.

    And that real scoop would be the P0A92. There are 4 sub-codes, which can be found in the freeze frame data which will help narrow down when you problem might lie, but it does look to involve MG1.
