Second Gen Prius seem to have a 100A fuse visible in the box, which usually only comes into focus when someone has inverted polarity during a jump start.

I do not see a 100A fuse in the under hood fuse box on my 3rd gen 2013. I see a long white box labeled relay assembly or something along those lines. All fuse panel schematics I see do not discuss this part of the fuse box.

Is the 100A fuse located somewhere else in the 2013 ?

    Thanks.

The main EFI fuse is 60amp. It’s # 27 in the under hood fuel box.
BTW, reversing the polarity during a jump start can lead to some catastrophic damage to the ECM and BCM modules. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you. Best of luck!

The Gen 3 has both the 140 amp fuse link shown in the lower left corner here, and the 125 amp (not 100) shown in the top right. As I recall, they are both kind of oddly shaped custom jobs.

The 140 amp sort of drapes over the edge of the 12 volt battery like a Dalí watch. The 125 amp is found in the underhood fusebox, kind of tucked away in the forward, inboard corner, with some plastic that clips, folds, or slides out of the way (I haven't been in there lately) for access.

For approaching half a century I've known how to jump cars. I've disassembled and restored cars, body work, painting, upholstery, brakes, exhaust, and done most things under a hood short of tearing down the engine block. I'm to young to blame old age and to old to blame ignorance....

On the bright side ( see shorting has a bright side :) [I slay me] ) I will get to learn about the Prius in way more detail than I ever imagined.

The 125A fuse is supposed to be within/under the fuse box... see pics posted by Sergey K in link i posted in my first reply above on page two toward the bottom.

The 140A fusible link block referenced by schematic shared by ChapmanF doesn't seem to be on/near my 12v battery in the rear.

A diagram at fuse-box info showing fuse box locations etc places it in the rear closer to the high voltage battery. I haven't been able to locate it yet. Any insights about finding the 140A fusible link block let me know. I do know to stay away from the high voltage battery and understand the bright orange safety cutout that isolates it.

Fuses confirmed blown so far include :

    20A ABS Main 1
    10A ETCS
    10A ECU B3
    30A AMP No 1
    30A AMP No 2
    15A RAD No 1
    10A BATT FAN

It doesn't even look like a fuse block. It looks like a weirdly shaped battery-positive-post clamp covered in red plastic and folded over the side of the battery.

I saw that and didn't realize thats what it was until I fully opened the plastic up. So the 140A fusible link is essentially between two lugs exposed when the cover is off and as long as I'm getting 12v off the one farthest from the battery that is intact. Excellent.

That leaves the 125A within/under the fuse box. ... and then we try it and hope the inverter is ok ....

    Thanks for the insight.

In this context I am understanding :

BCM : as Brake Control Module and not the Body Control Module ?
ECM : as Engine Control Module a synonym for the Power Control Module ?

It appears we are indeed having trouble with the Brake Control Module and the Power Control Module. What are the odds that upon replacing these we will find more modules with issues that just aren't showing up yet ? Or would all failing modules be throwing readable codes ?

I was mistaken about the 125 amp DC/DC converter fuse in the underhood fusebox. It is much more of a chore to access than I thought.

That underhood fusebox is divided into several "units" that separately clip into the fusebox frame:

    box.png

"Unit A" is the main attraction, with most of the fuses. A couple of the "units" are easier to remove, like "Unit D" which unclips and pulls out toward you. "Unit A", not so much; it is clipped into the frame from below. You need to free up the fuse box and get the bottom cover off, to be able to squeeze "Unit A"'s five clips (roughly where I've put the green arrows) and shove it out of the frame downwards.

The 125 amp DC/DC converter fuse is on the forward face of "Unit A", once you can get to it.

    It bolts down.
