    Think you will need SP3, which should have the USB driver. Prior to SP3 you had to load the USB driver into XP.

    Could be totally wrong as well :cool:

    OP, did you ever get it sorted? I have a copy of V13 as well that behaves as you described. Seeing as how I don't actually need V13 for my 2008 2nd gen Prius, I just installed my known working V12 Techstream and proceeded as usual. I was considering posting a comprehensive install guide for V12 TS but idk if that is allowed around here or not?

    Post it (y). Personally I'd suggest making a new thread though. I'm not sure how others feel about that

    It is a .reg file, which stores a bunch of changes that need to be made to the registry to run on 64-bit Windows, so the changes can be made by loading that file rather than making each individual change manually in the registry editor.
    How to Create a .Reg File for Easy Registry Hacks | Laptop Mag

    Referred to towards the end of post #1 here: Techstream TIS VCI Installation Guide (64-bit OS) Including All Software Needed! - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum - FT86CLUB

    Quoting from that:
    "Registry Hack: for Techstream to recognize MINI-VCI under Windows x64, the Registry has to be modified as:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\PassThruSu pport.04.04]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\PassThruSu pport.04.04\XHorse - MVCI]
    "Name"="XHorse - MVCI"
    "Vendor"="XHorse ELECTRONICS Co.,Ltd."
    "ConfigApplication"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\XHorse Electronics\\MVCI Driver for TOYOTA TIS\\FirmwareUpdateTool.exe"
    "FunctionLibrary"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\XHorse Electronics\\MVCI Driver for TOYOTA TIS\\MVCI32.dll"
    "APIVersion"="04.04"
    "ProductVersion"="1.1.0"
    "ProtocolsSupported"="J1850VPW:1, J1850PWM:1, CAN:1, ISO9141:1, ISO14230:1, ISO15765:1"

    "SCI_B_ENGINE"=dword:00000000
    "SCI_B_TRANS"=dword:00000000

    The attached "mvci-x64.reg" contains the *.REG file that has to be imported to the Registry (all you have to do in this step is just extract the file to the desktop, right click, then click Merge)

    BTW, I'm currently figuring out how I will attempt to install the cable I just bought on eBay, and that ft86club.com page I cite above appears to be the most promising thing I've found so far, even though it is from 2014 and written to install Techstream v.8
