I have a gen 4 that I’m sound dampening and my next thing I want to do is upgrade the speakers. I don’t want anything crazy and I’d prefer not to have to add an amp, so I wanted recommendations on what’s the max watts I could use without an upgrade or what’s a good option for me.

so we are assuming you don't have a JBL sticker on your headunit, which this is for the majority of us. I'm not sure how the 2020 headunit max is, but chances are it is similar to any stock headunit which tends to handle about 25W speakers. Anything over 25W, then you will not be able to turn it up too loud. If you are looking to play 50 watts and higher, a speaker you probably want an amp. I own Infinity Reference which sound very good. It plays well for your pop rock top hits and EDM.

I don’t have the JBL. I ordered the infinity references, I just wanted a plug and play speaker so they’ll do that once I get the connector in.
