    Hi All,

Previously posted a thread on how I needed my front wheel bearings replaced. I found a timken part online but it ended up being the wrong one. The proper toyota part is 4355047020 and it has the correct triangular flange shape and 3 bolts but whenever I filter by my vehicle on various auto part stores they give me a wheel bearing with a circular flange and 4 bolts. Does anyone know why all these shops are recommending the wrong wheel bearing for my prius? Can anyone recommend me a specific part number for a non toyota part wheel bearing that'll have same components as the toyota part # 4355047020 so I can look it up online? I would order from toyota but that will take a few days and I need the part ASAP.

Perhaps it’s because Timken’s catalog website lists only their equivalent for the rear axle hub and bearing assembly, HA590413, which as you note, has four bolt holes rather than the three found on the front.
I know of only one aftermarket equivalent for Toyota’s 43550-47020: the JTEKT (Koyo Seiko) 3DACF038D-26BR-AM (3G034).

I’m not sure how you could get one quickly, however. Suppliers in Japan offer them at a reasonable price (about $80 each, at current exchange rates, plus shipping), but they would probably take longer to arrive than the Toyota part ordered from a U.S. dealer.

Appreciate the response.. According to this link from the timken site the HA590413 is the front bearing and HA590373 is the rear bearing, both have the four bolt holes.

Anyway, I've ordered the OEM part through toyota and hope this fits properly.. it says both left and right bearings so i really hope it comes with both and not just one side..

It won’t. Catalog Figure 43-03, Front Axle Hub lists the part twice, once for the right side (under part name code 43501C) and once for the left side (43502C), from which I infer you need two, one for each side.

The “Wheel Bearing And Hub (Left, Right, Front)” description is unique to parts.toyota.com, and regrettably, less informative than the part names, such as “HUB SUB-ASSY, FRONT AXLE, RH” or「フロントアクスル ハブ RH」for 43501C, that appear in the catalog data published by Toyota headquarters in Japan.

This is bad bad news.. I just ordered one of part number 4355047020 because I thought it included two.. I need these wheel bearings by tomorrow because my cars is at the shop and taking up an entire lift at my mechanic's shop.. he took off the old bearings and cannot put those back on since they were ruined. I have one coming that I can pick up.. do you have any ideas of how to get another one asap? For reference.. I'm in the 07661 zipcode.

All I could suggest is calling nearby Toyota and Lexus dealers; you might find one in stock somewhere.

Elektro, just wanted to say thanks for your replies. I called over a dozen places nearby and on the last Toyota dealership that was near me they had one wheel bearing in stock! It was definitely overpriced, had to pay $477 for one wheel bearing (whereas if I bought it from another dealer online it would've been $344) but at least I was able to get it in time and get both parts to my mechanic. All in all it cost me a little over $1,000 for both parts and labor to repair my front wheel bearings.
