Sorry, it's a credit not a rebate. Car has to be titled/registered in CO, and credit received when taxes are filed. It can be bought outside of CO though; I bought two Primes in the NE to take advantage of deals there

If its a tax rebate it comes from the taxes you paid. If you did not pay any colorado taxes then you will not get any money back. Thats how I understand it..

This PP post has over a million views. To me, with the low production of PPs and only 4 production years, having that many views is astounding. There's that much interest from owners, potential buyers, perhaps dealers and Toyota Corporate? Astounding :)

With the arrival of the RAV4 Prime, wondering how likely is it for the $4502 federal tax credit for the Prius Prime to expire next year (2021). Anyone tracking the sales figures?

I am looking at purchasing the prius prime LE or XLE trims.

I live in VA and can drive to NJ, NY, MD etc for getting the car. What should be a good OTD price I should expect. Also do you have any recommendations for dealerships?

    Thanks for the help.

Did you get the quotes? Any recommendations? I noticed that you are from VA as well, if you wish I am fine to try and negotiate together for two cars :). I am starting the process and live in VA and am flexible with purchase timeline. Can buy right away or wait a bit.I

By the way, I am not sure if such collaboration offers are ok to be made in this forum. If I am violating any T&C of the forum then please excuse me!

    Thanks for the help.

Imperial Toyota has XLEs for $23,998 on cars.com. Since taxes, etc., vary by the state, you would want to look at the price of the car excluding tax, title and registration fees due to the State Govt. Also, try dealerships in western New York around Buffalo (including Basil Toyota, Toyota of Batavia, Luv Toyota, etc.). Also, Toyota of Massapequa might be reasonable as well.

    EDIT: Added dealer names.

Holman in NJ has low prices but not the color I was looking for. The lowest cost without (roughly tax $1352, registration 105, docs fees 400).
Heritage XLE: $25,152; Limited $28,845 (ask for Vlad)
I paid $31,561 (out the door) for a Red Limited with 3 accessories.

    Darcar in Md,
Limited: out the door price was $31,954 (ask for Wesley)

On 8/31, purchased 2020 Prius Prime Limited from Toyota Carlsbad (California) in Silver. There were only 10 available within 200 miles of me in Silver, when I purchased. This was all done on line, then delivered to my home in San Diego. I had received a quote for $300 over invoice +Doc +TTL, from another dealer (who didn't have any 2020s in stock), so Toyota Carlsbad matched that quote. Of course, the rebate went up to $2,500 10 hours after purchase, so I could have saved $500. I'm really bummed about that! But, I love my new car!!!

    MSRP $35,014.00

    Sale Price $33,539.00

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Doc $85.00

    DMV $479.00

    Tax $2,605.86 @ 7.75% in our area

    Total before Rebate <36,708.86 >

    Rebate <$2,000.00 > good thru 8/31/2020

San Diego has a lot of 2020's in stock (LE and XLE's, not limited)... . Of course you'd have to visit in person, and negotiate back and forth. This is the least wanted car, and barely moves.

A rav4 has like 30-100 views within 30 days on dealer pages, while a prius prime is lucky to see 10 views within 30 days. Guys in cali.. do not pay retail. Enjoy the car! Limited are harder to find.

You cannot find a Prius Prime in South Florida and if you do it is always at MSRP.
Flight to MD was $59 and I had a great drive home.

South Florida & Blizzard Pearl XLE here as well. How long ago did you strike this deal? Did you fly American? That was a banging deal all the way around, ticket included. :)

    Hi guys,

So I started my search for a 2020 PRIUS PRIME XLE with light colored seats a week ago. Inventory says there are over 170 Prii in the New England area and a similar amount in Greater New York. It's been like pulling teeth to get an itemized OTD price list from the dealers so far. And none of the dealers are willing to trade to get me what I want.

I was hoping some of you would be generous with some specifics regarding your negotiations. So far, the best dealer discount to MSRP I have received is $500, which is garbage given that the "new" car has almost 200 miles on it. It's probably a demo or a loaner. Of course, there was no mention of this by the internet manager. I was offered that at Toyota of Portsmouth in New Hampshire.

How big of a dealer discount have you negotiated from MSRP (not counting factory rebates)?

Which dealer offered you that discount?

Who was the salesperson you spoke to?

Also, does anyone know how to pull factory invoice pricing on the vehicle itself as well as the extras? I use to pay a service years ago that provided this info, but that business is no longer.

    Thanks in advance...

The way I went about mine is to look at cars.com for the cheapest price and negotiate with dealers closer to me for the same price or better. Aside from the price, the only variable I found is the documentation fee, which Buffalo, NY area dealers have at a reasonable $75 and MA dealers and others at $475 and such. I would just ask for the price+doc-fee combo (excluding Govt. fees/taxes), because all others like tax, title, etc., are anyway mandatory Government fees/taxes and same for everyone.

I just left a dealer here in NYC and got $800 off MSRP for a limited and it felt like I was pulling teeth to get it. It was basically invoice price +/- a few bucks.

This was at Westbury Toyota in Long Island and I spoke to John. They only had two XLE's both red with black seats. They had a ton of LE's and Limited but they all had black seats from what I recall

You can look up invoice price at KBB or Edmunds, the guy I spoke to showed me an itemized invoice cost of the car I was buying and accessories which I was honestly surprised he did, but basically he said "This is why I can't go lower"

Total numbers for a 2020 Prime Limited for me were

    MSRP: $35283
    Incentives $4,500 Toyota Rebate
    $1,100 NY Resident Rebate
    ~$800 Dealer Discount
    Selling price: $28,883
    Tax: $3061
    OTD: $31944
