Hi Everyone, 2020 Prime XLE w/ iPhone XR. My drive to work is about 30 mins, and on average the bluetooth disconnects between 0-4 times per trip. It happens most often within about 20 seconds of leaving my parking spot and beginning to drive (no it's not a disconnect from wifi>4G issue since I do not use wifi at work). It literally just "pauses" itself, and if I press the play button on the screen it will begin to play again. I wear an apple watch, do not use any other bluetooth devices in the car, and never had this issue with my 07 Prius with an aftermarket setup.

I am 99% sure it's bluetooth not 4G because two months ago I exceeded my data and was throttled for 3-4 days. There were a few spots in my rural drive where the throttled internet could no longer stream pandora and instead of pausing it just hung (did not pause) until it picked the internet connection back up and then continued to play.

I have tried deleting the bluetooth connections on my phone and car twice and re-adding them, but it did not make a difference. My phone is up to date with software. I tried googling and couldn't find anything relevant.

edit: I am not plugging in with a charging cable, I am not using entune or carplay, just simple bluetooth + stream.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

have you updated the latest software on your XR?
i have a iphone X and no problems with bluetooth connectivity.
for listening to music, i prefer using the cord and apple play.
you'll get a better album art cover as well.

Software is regularly 100% up to date on the XR, I'll try running with the cord all week as a little case study to see if it makes a difference at least.

I just bought the 2020 Prius Prime LE last month and have an Android phone, Galaxy note8. I usually don't have problems with computers but this one has won. I used Android Auto with my 2012 Volt without any problems and was told that there was Android Auto in my new car. Well, all I can find is Entune infotainment system. After about a week I had everything installed and working. The next day I couldn't connect and it has been that way for the last two weeks. Is there someone to call to get help. Or, is there a website that goes through everything I need to do. I transferred my Sirius with no trouble.

For what it's worth I had the dealership look at it twice. The first time they tried pushing a software update after contacting toyota usa. This didn't make a difference, actually seemed to make things worse. So they ordered me a replacement radio/infotainment center unit. It's on the way to the dealership to be installed. The service writer mentioned they were in the process of ordering a replacement for someone else's that "burned out" whatever that means. There may be issues with the unit. I have the XLE though so it's the big 12' screen unit.
